Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a method and system for delivering a message from a sender computing system to a recipient computing system and specifically to a method and system for delivering the message directly to the recipient or as close to the recipient's location as possible in order to enhance the recipients experience.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of mobile communications and in particular to messaging methods and systems using mobile communications terminals. The invention provides for the ability for a message to be transmitted to a recipient device in a number of different formats dependent upon the information which is known about the recipient device at that time. Said information may include a messaging address and/or telephony identifier and the possible message formats include e-mails and SMS formats. The particular format selected and the particular device information used to send the message can be selected to suit particular conditions and requirements thereby providing a method and system for ensuring that transmitted messages are received most efficiently.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for specifying an ENUM service type in a communications network that uses a plurality of different ENUM service types. According to one method, at least one ENUM service type is identified from a plurality of different ENUM service types. The identification is performed at a signaling point separate from an ENUM database. An ENUM query message corresponding to the at least one identified ENUM service type is generated. The ENUM query message is transmitted to an at least one ENUM server for providing the at least one identified ENUM service type.
Abstract:
A system for provisioning an electronic mail (email) account of a user for allowing access to an electronic mailbox from a remote device to retrieve email includes a communications module that receives email address parameters entered by the user and transmits a domain name system (DNS) query to the Internet for returning mail exchange (MX) and address (A) records corresponding to the entered email address parameters of the user. A configuration module processes any returned MX and A records to determine whether the email address parameters entered by the user are valid before attempting to provision the email account of the user.
Abstract:
Electronic content management systems and methods are disclosed. Geographic locator addresses such as mailing addresses are associated with respective, unique, geo-specific electronic addresses. For example, unique electronic addresses may be generated based on information specifying geographic locator addresses. The electronic address associated with a geographic locator address, to which information is to be distributed, may then be determined, and electronic content which includes the information to be distributed can be made available through the electronic address. The geo-specific nature of the electronic addresses may also be used to make electronic content that has local significance available through an electronic address. A user system may determine a type of the electronic content obtained through an electronic address and process the electronic content according to the determined type.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for authenticating an electronic message are provided. The method includes investigating data in a header of the electronic message, and generating an authenticity indicator in response to the investigation. The authenticity indicator may provide an indication of the likelihood that the electronic message was sent from a purported sender visible to a recipient of the electronic message. In certain embodiments, the method includes presenting the authenticity indicator to the recipient of the electronic message. Investigating data in the header may include parsing the header to obtain purported sender data in a from field populated at a mail client and to obtain actual originator data, comparing the purported sender data and actual originator data, and generating the authenticity indicator in response to the comparison. The from field may be the "FROM: ." field of an email message provided to identify a sender of the email message.
Abstract:
A communication system comprises a computer workstation operable under stored program control, a mobile telecommunication network having a number of active subscribers capable of receiving a text message along the network, a messaging application software program executable on the computer workstation, and an information database that has, for each active subscriber of the telecommunication network, a corresponding mobile telecommunication access number.. The computer workstation is communicable with the mobile telecommunication network. The application software program is usable by a user of the system to compose either one of an e-mail message and a text message, the text message being deliverable along the mobile telecommunication network to an intended recipient who is an active subscriber of the network, the intended recipient being uniquely identifiable by means of a mobile telecommunication access number. The mobile communication network disseminates the composed text message to the intended recipient along the mobile telecommunication network as a function of the recipient's mobile telecommunication access number.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel system, method and apparatus for exchanging electronic information during a voice telephone call. A subscriber during a voice telephone call can provide subscriber-input to their telephone or to request a transfer of electronic information to one or more other subscribers during a voice telephone call. The present invention thus obviates the need for manually transcribing electronic information such as email addresses, facsimile number or web-page addresses during a voice telephone call.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for assigning a telephone number to an Internet web phone, comprising the steps of: adding an adding part that is a separate web phone-recognizing code to each of the beginning portions of entities constituting the corresponding field of a mapping table of ITU-T Recommendation for a Telco. No., Mobile Phone No.; and designating a web phone user's Internet phone number having both the adding part and each of the entities constituting the corresponding field as a new entity; wherein a gatekeeper performs a switching function by associating the designated new entity with an IP address of the mapping table together on the basis of the designated new entity.
