Abstract:
Various disclosed embodiments include methods and systems for provisioning traversal using relays around network address translation (TURN) credentials and servers for network address translation/firewall (NAT/FW) traversal via a Voice-over-Internet-protocol/Web Real-Time Communication (VoIP/WebRTC) signaling channel. The method comprises receiving, at a signaling gateway, a signaling message from a first electronic device (ED) when the first electronic device registers with the signaling gateway or sends other signaling messages for requesting a TURN credential. The signaling message comprises one or more signaling message parameters. The signaling message further comprises a request that the signaling gateway generate a TURN credential for the first electronic device, the TURN credential associated with the one or more signaling message parameters. The method comprises sending, from the signaling gateway, the TURN credential to the first electronic device.
Abstract:
An oil field process control system including a field versatile control gateway component that interfaces with a plurality of field devices using a broad range of hardwired and wireless protocols, offering in-the-field monitoring and control of each of the field devices and communicates with a remote central control room, exchanging data between the control room and the field using a multiplexed protocol that offers high data speeds and bandwidth, enabling a significant reduction of the amount of wiring, and conduits and other infrastructure expenses that would otherwise be incurred for such a highly reliable communications system.
Abstract:
A smart home system using a portable device in which a gateway function is installed in the portable device to provide a smart home service using a multiplex gateway, and a control method thereof is provided. The smart home system includes one or more portable devices and one or more home appliances located in a home, each of the one or more portable devices and one or more home appliances having a gateway, a home network to interconnect the one or more portable devices and the one or more home appliances, and a master device selected from among the one or more portable devices or the one or more home appliances, the master device activating the gateway thereof to connect the home network with an external communication network, wherein the master device transfers a home appliance control command to a corresponding one of the one or more home appliances.
Abstract:
In one or more embodiments method and an apparatus for experiencing an multimedia service are provided. Multiple entities such as a first client device, a second client device, a media managing server, and a media provider system perform set of functions to experience the multimedia service. In an embodiment, the method of experiencing multimedia service is provided which includes the steps of transmitting a first request with a set of preferences for obtaining an multimedia session with at least one of a session id, a program id and a view id, establishing the multimedia session with the media managing server and the media provider system based on the first request and the set of preferences, and transmitting a second request to the media managing server for inviting one or more client devices to share the multimedia session.
Abstract:
Provided is a system which enables session mobility and media mobility between terminals even when the session information currently being provided is not known in advance. A method for operating a target terminal to be provided with media mobility between user terminals of a system for providing media sessions between a source terminal and a remote terminal through an IMS entity and a continuity control server, comprises the following steps: receiving user input information indicating a request for mobility of media provided through a media session between the source terminal and the remote terminal; generating a register message for requesting media mobility according to the request for mobility of media based on the user input information; and transmitting the register message to the IMS entity.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method and apparatus in a gateway for transferring switched dialed digits to a switched party gateway, wherein the method includes: A. judging whether switched dialed digits from a user match against a table of overlap dialed numbers; B. if the switched dialed digits match against the table of overlap dialed numbers, then transmitting the switched dialed digits in match to the switched party gateway; and C. if a subsequent switched dialed digit from the user is received, then transmitting the subsequent switched dialed digit to the switched party gateway. With this method, the gateway can enforce an open dialing policy through overlap dialing with computability with an existing in-dialog call setting-up flow.
Abstract:
A solution for the Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal problem for Real Time Protocol (RTP) is provided, which uses an RTP Proxy (e.g., a Session Border Controller (SBC)), instead of being logically located between the NAT and the Feature Server (FS), but instead, for devices which use a protocol unsupported by the SBC, having these devices first signal the Feature Server, which determines whether and how an RTP proxy should be invoked. An RTP proxy should be invoked by the FS if Both endpoints (e.g., devices) are behind different NATs (or one of the endpoints is behind a NAT and the other is not) and neither of the endpoints are already signaled through an RTP proxy. For example, the SBC is interposed (at least logically) between the Feature Server and other shared components.
Abstract:
A SIP-based network architecture is defined allowing a variety of access methods for interfacing QSIG-based signaling devices. The QSIG-based signaling devices are typically enterprise-based PBXs that either interface directly via QSIG, or adapt QSIG signaling to related signaling protocols via gateways, which can be customer premise or network based. The gateways can either interwork QSIG signaling or tunnel QSIG signaling over H.323, SIP, or other protocols. Upon reaching the SIP-based network, Session Border Controllers process the signaling. The Session Border Controllers terminate the tunnel (if used) and extracts the QSIG signaling for interworking to SIP, thereby facilitating a homogeneous SIP- based core network. In addition to interworking QSIG signaling, the Session Border Controllers perform other signaling related functions for the SIP-based network that are performed at a point as near as possible to the network's edge.
