Abstract:
The embodiment provides a gateway device and a method for processing value added services provided by a network. The gateway device is configured to process media channels and signaling channels from a PSTN network and convert it to a format suitable for IP network and vise versa. The received E1/T1/J1 links are multiplexed into slots using a framer. A Time slot interchanger is configured to separate the media channel and signaling channels. The processor communicates the signaling channels and the DSP sends the processed media packets to the application server. The gateway device can support multiple signaling protocols, different media like voice, data and video services.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a technique for routing a signal from a mobile terminal in a communication network. A method aspect of the technique comprises receiving an identification signal from the mobile terminal (209, 211), extracting an International 5 Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) associated with the mobile terminal from the identification signal, and routing the signal upon the basis of the IMSI in the communication network.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems and computer readable media for centralized routing and call instance code management for bearer independent call control (BICC) signaling messages. One aspect of the subject matter described herein includes a system for routing BICC signaling messages and managing call instance code assignments. The system includes a BICC signaling router. The BICC signaling router includes a routing module for centralized routing of BICC signaling messages between a plurality of BICC signaling nodes. The BICC signaling router further includes a call instance code management module for centralized assignment of call instance codes for BICC signaling sessions routed through the BICC signaling router.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer readable media for location-sensitive number translation in a telecommunications network are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for providing location-sensitive called-party number translation in a telecommunications network. The method includes, at a signaling node that includes at least one processor: receiving a first signaling message that includes a called party number; determining proximity information associated with the calling party; performing a location-sensitive called party number translation based on the proximity information associated with the calling party; and sending the first signaling message or a second signaling message, the sent message including the translated called party number.
Abstract:
Receiving a message associated with a subscriber session in a node monitoring the session and determining, on the basis of the received message, an inter-domain hand-over in the session from a first core network domain to a second core network domain.
Abstract:
A method of operating a signaling gateway for routing signaling messages between a SS7 network and an IP-based network is provided. The signaling gateway has a signaling point code allocated as a network address. Further, a signaling gateway for routing signaling messages between a SS7 network and an IP-based network is provided. The signaling gateway comprises an interface towards the SS7 network and an interface towards the IP-based network. The signaling gateway comprises a processing unit which may implement a SS7 protocol stack and an IP protocol stack. The processing unit may be configured to translate a message delivered to an upper protocol layer of the SS7 protocol stack to a corresponding message conforming to a user adaptation protocol of the IP protocol stack.
Abstract:
A method of operating a signalling gateway in a decoupled mode of operation for routing signalling messages between an SS7 and an IP-based network is provided. Further, the invention relates to a method of processing a connection oriented signalling message at an application server process, wherein the message is exchanged via a signalling gateway between an SS7 network node and the application server process. The application server process serves at least one application server in an IP-based network. The invention further provides a signalling gateway for routing signalling messages between an SS7 network and an IP-based network and an application server comprising an application server process for processing signalling messages, in particular connection oriented messages.
