    Abstract: The embodiment provides a gateway device and a method for processing value added services provided by a network. The gateway device is configured to process media channels and signaling channels from a PSTN network and convert it to a format suitable for IP network and vise versa. The received E1/T1/J1 links are multiplexed into slots using a framer. A Time slot interchanger is configured to separate the media channel and signaling channels. The processor communicates the signaling channels and the DSP sends the processed media packets to the application server. The gateway device can support multiple signaling protocols, different media like voice, data and video services.
