Abstract:
A method and system (10) for allowing a user to select actions to be taken by a server (18) when uploading images from a hand-held image capture device (12) is disclosed. The method and system include storing action list on the image capture device (12) that includes one or more items representing actions that the server should take with respect to upload images. After the user initiates an image upload process, the action list is displayed to the user on the image capture device (12) for user selection. After the user selects at leasst one of the items in the action list, the images and the selects action list item are sent to the server, and the server performs the specified action on the uploaded images.
Abstract:
A system for prompting data input by a user on a wireless device (100) to prepare a listing for an item to be sold on a sales service provider site utilizing an integrated camera (108) on the wireless device to obtain images of the item which are integrated into the listing. Upon completion of the listing, a sales service provider is contacted wirelessly by the device and the listing is transferred to the provider. Upon completion of a transaction by the provider, the wireless device receives transaction data for completion of the sale by the user. Prompts are provided on the display (106) using screens (502) with touchpad capability for data entry. Still and video images are prompted by the system and integrated camera capability in the wireless device is used to obtain the images.
Abstract:

The fax machine (10) may also include an additional key pad, PCI slots, voice generator circuitry, voice recognition circuitry, a sound card, a paper scanner, a bar code reader, a finger/thumb print scanner, a retina scanner, a stylus pen, a signature pad, a shredder, a network control unit, input/output ports, etc.
Abstract:
A notebook personal computer has storages provided therein and an LCD on which information stored in an image server externally connected through the Internet. The information stored in each storage is displayed on the LCD and processed by the same procedures by means of an operation unit such as a keyboard or a touch pad. When a user wants to display information stored in the externally connected image server on the LCD, auxiliary information representing the fact is also displayed. The auxiliary information is discriminated by its folder name different from that of the information stored in the image server or by displaying it on the background of a display portion of the screen of the LCD. Therefore, without requiring the user to do complex operation, the contents on the network can be confirmed with only a simple operation.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus having an open services gateway initiative (OSGi)-based service is provided. The image forming apparatus may include a user interface (UI) unit to receive a service execution command for a first bundle to provide at least one service, and a control unit which controls the UI unit to display a UI of a second bundle to provide at least one service, the second bundle having UI expansion information for the first bundle in one region of a UI window corresponding to the first bundle.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus restricts the use of functions on a user-by-user basis as well as easily suppresses the realization of a function that is equivalent to a restricted function by combining other functions. To accomplish this, an image processing system includes an image processing apparatus and an information processing apparatus that includes function restriction information for restricting, on a user-by- user basis, the use of functions provided by an image processing apparatus. Furthermore, the image processing apparatus acquires function restriction information corresponding to an authorized user, and if a function whose use is restricted by function restriction information can be realized by combining other functions, the image processing apparatus restricts the use of the other functions.
