Abstract:
An electronic device is provided that is capable of dealing with data loss from a volatile memory that can be caused when power supply from a device power source is disconnected. Even if there is a setting to retain received data in the volatile memory until a printing instruction is given by a user, the electronic device, e.g., an image forming apparatus, prints received data without waiting for the user's printing instruction in a case where a backup battery voltage is less than a predetermined value.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for downloading multimedia contents to an electronic picture frame. The present invention relates to a method for downloading multimedia contents to an electronic picture frame connected to a multimedia contents management server (hereinafter referred to as "management server") via a mobile communication network or a wire communication network, comprising the steps of A) classifying and storing the multimedia contents into a plurality of groups formed according to preference rating; B) extracting a predetermined number of multimedia contents to be downloaded to the electronic picture frame from the plurality of groups and generating a download list of the predetermined number of multimedia contents; C) transmitting the predetermined number of multimedia contents included in the download list to the electronic picture frame; D) when the downloading is completed, storing the time of downloading the predetermined number of multimedia contents for each of the predetermined number of multimedia contents; and E) when a predetermined requirement is satisfied in the management server, performing steps B) to D) repeatedly.
Abstract:
Digital camera (1) is connected to personal computer (2) via communication cable (100). When a user operates a key to delete any one of images recorded on memory card (25) of the digital camera (1), digital camera (1) requests personal computer (2) to delete an image which links to the deleted image and is stored in personal computer (2). When receiving this command, personal computer (2) deletes the image linked to the image deleted from digital camera (1). These processes ensure consistency between an original image stored in the digital camera (1) and a copy image stored in the personal computer (2).
Abstract:
This invention efficiently implements encoding processes corresponding to respective image processing functions while minimizing the memory use size in the apparatus in an image processing apparatus having many image processing functions. A data processing apparatus of this invention includes a data reception unit for receiving at least data of a first format for respective pages, a data conversion unit for converting the data of the first format into data of a second format, a page data management unit for managing the data of the first and second formats in first and second page data in association with each other, and a control unit for managing whether or not an output processor which executes a predetermined output process with reference to the first or second page data is present. The control unit generates the page data management unit in a memory in response to reception of the data of the first format for respective pages. The control unit monitors the storage states of the data of the first and second formats in the memory, and releases the first or second page data in accordance with the storage states and the reference state by the output processor.
Abstract:
A method and system for scanning documents in a network environment and merging the resulting scan files with other documents into a printing workflow provides a user interface in which the user merges a scan file and a document file on a page basis by selecting thumbnail images of the desired pages and dragging and dropping the thumbnails so that a new merged document results. An alternative embodiment allows the user to apply predefined merge templated to the selected pages. The predefined merge templates may include printing and formatting instructions such as color settings and a page layout. The system architecture provides a color print server and a client workstation in communication with the color print server. A scanning device, which may be a dedicated scanner or the platen of a copying machine is connected to the color print server or the client workstation. The scanning software, resident on either the color print server or the workstation allows the user to customize the scan and apply modifications to the image after scanning. Scanned images may be retrieved by email or over the World Wide Web. The color print server and the attached scanning device may also function as a color copier.
Abstract:
A scanning device (figure 2) includes an automatic document handler (32) for stream feeding in serial fashion hard copy original page to a platen or scanning station (38) to be automatically read by the image scanner into electrical signals or data. The raw image data is stored in a memory buffer (54). An operator may use the data in this buffer to scale the image electronically before using the image for further processing, such as printing or publishing.
Abstract:
In the case of documents containing information such as blank paper on one side, communication time for both-side transmission is reduced, and both-side recording can be carried out by a receiving side as intended by a sending side even when a page transmission sequence or document images on the front and rear sides are interchanged. When transmitting/receiving page information containing image data on either one of front and rear sides, a transmitter transmits the page information having appended thereto with at least a page counter (PC) indicating page numbers of an actual document, information indicating a front or rear side (SIDE), and the attribute information of virtual page number information (VPC) synchronized with the transmission sequence of the page information, and a receiver image-records the received page information on the both sides of recording paper based on the transmitted attribute information, the page counter (PC) indicating page numbers of the actual document, and information indicating a front or rear side (SIDE).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mobile memory unit with a bulk storage device, at least one input interface for a memory card, especially a memory card for digital image photography, and at least one output interface.
