Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, formatting input streams into Data Pipe (DP) data, Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) encoding the DP data according to a code rate, bit interleaving the LDPC encoded DP data, mapping the bit interleaved DP data onto constellations, building at least one signal frame including the mapped DP data, and modulating data in the built signal frame by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) method and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data, wherein the input streams include Audio/Video (A/V) data and service guide data, and wherein the Audio/Video (A/V) data and service guide data are included in first ISO base media file format (ISOBMFF) files.

Abstract:
Abstract:
A method and system for inter-destination synchronization of at least a first and a second stream is described, wherein the second stream is the output stream of a media stream modification unit using the first stream as an input stream. The method comprises the steps of : providing first arrival time information of a packet in the first stream arriving at a first synchronization point and second arrival time information of a packet in the second stream arriving at a second synchronization point; providing synchronization correlation information on the synchronicity relationship between said input stream and said output stream; and, calculating delay information on the basis of the first and second arrival time information and the synchronization correlation information.
Abstract:
A technique for controlling a download (110) of an electronic service guide (ESG) for media content distribution services to a user device (102) is proposed. First, a user behaviour related to the user device is monitored. Second, a ranking of fragments of the electronic service guide to be downloaded interactively onto the user device is determined, based on the monitoring. The download of one or more of the fragments to the user device is then initiated based on the ranking. This technique is particularly useful when a transmission capacity available for downloading fragments of the ESG is limited.
Abstract:
A device (6000) and method is disclosed for processing a data stream comprising a plurality of frames. Further, a program element and a computer-readable medium are disclosed enabling the disclosed method. The device comprises a detection unit (6001) for detecting the switch from a first reproduction mode to a second reproduction mode, a determination unit (6003) for determining a first anchor frame in the plurality of frames and an insertion unit (6004) for inserting the first anchor frame and a succession of empty predictive frames subsequent to the first anchor frame. The device operates in a manner that improves the compliance of a processed data stream for further transmission to a remote decoder arrangement that is capable of decoding a standardized signal.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus, system and computer readable medium for implementing a universal media interface and control protocol to control a universal media apparatus. The universal media interface and its control protocol facilitate communication, including issuance of generalized commands between a target device, such as an audio/video ("A/V") device and a universal music player, thereby enabling the target device to play music from different types of music servers and specialized server processes.
