Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems and computer readable media for centralized routing and call instance code management for bearer independent call control (BICC) signaling messages. One aspect of the subject matter described herein includes a system for routing BICC signaling messages and managing call instance code assignments. The system includes a BICC signaling router. The BICC signaling router includes a routing module for centralized routing of BICC signaling messages between a plurality of BICC signaling nodes. The BICC signaling router further includes a call instance code management module for centralized assignment of call instance codes for BICC signaling sessions routed through the BICC signaling router.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for performing message deposit transaction screening. One method includes receiving a call setup signaling message for a call for which a message deposit transaction is indicated and determining a message deposit transaction parameter associated with the message deposit transaction based on the signaling message. At least one message deposit transaction screening criterion is determined for the message deposit transaction based on the at least one message deposit transaction parameter. A message deposit transaction screening action is performed based on application of the screening criterion to the message deposit transaction parameter.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for using an LRN based query and response mechanism (e.g., a switching office number portability processing system) to route calls to IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) subscribers are disclosed. According to one method, an LRN based response message including a communications service subscriber identifier is received. An IMS gateway LRN associated with the communications service subscriber identifier may be determined. The IMS gateway LRN associated with the communications service subscriber identifier may be inserted into the LRN based response message and routing the message.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) registration service to a non-IMS subscriber terminal are disclosed. According to one method, activity involving a non-IMS subscriber terminal is identified. In response to identifying the activity involving the non-IMS subscriber terminal, an IMS network registration operation is performed on behalf of the non-IMS subscriber terminal.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for automatically bypassing a short message service center for short message service (SMS) messages destined for predetermined SMPP destinations are disclosed. A signal transfer point may receive SMS messages that are global title addressed to a short message service center. The signal transfer point may internally route such messages to a short message gateway. The short message gateway may identify SMS messages destined for predetermined SMPP destinations and forward those messages to the destinations in a manner that bypasses the SMSC. For other SMS messages, the short message gateway may forward these messages to the SMSC for delivery.
Abstract:
A signaling message processing and routing node (300) intercepts and routes signaling system 7 (SS7)-based signaling messages received from the base station controller (BSC) (113) component of a base station system (BSS) via an A-interface link interface. The A-interface normally connects a BSC node (113) to a mobile switching center (MSC) node (114). Upon determining that a signaling message received from a BSC node (113) via an A-interface link is an SMS-related message, the SMS message is routed towards the appropriate destination without involving the MSC node (114) connected to the BSC (113), The SMS message may be encapsulated within an Internet protocol (IP)-based transport adapter layer interface (TALI) protocol packet and transmitted into an IP network (604), As a result, MSC resources are conserved.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer program products for distributing application or higher layer communications network signaling entity operational status information among SIP entities are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes determining operational status information for an application or higher layer communications network signaling entity. Further, the method includes identifying at least one second SIP entity to receive the operational status information. The method also includes distributing the operational status information to the at least one second SIP entity. The first SIP entity, the at least one second SIP entity, and the application or higher layer communications network signaling entity are associated with network nodes separate from subscriber communication terminals.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for transferring a message service payload between messaging entities. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for intelligently processing a message service payload being transmitted between messaging entities. A messaging service message comprising a payload being transmitted from an N-generation messaging entity to an M-generation messaging entity is received at a core network, wherein N and M are integers. The payload is decoded to identify a service to be provided. An action is performed to facilitate the providing of the identified service.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing voicemail routing information in a network that provides customized voicemail services are disclosed. According to one method, a voicemail routing query is received at an advanced voicemail routing node, where the query includes at least one parameter associated with a voicemail transaction. Based on at least one query parameter, voicemail routing information may be determined that identifies a voicemail server and a voicemail service from among a plurality of voicemail servers, where at least some of the voicemail servers provide different services. A voicemail routing query response may then be generated including the determined voicemail routing information.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for routing a call from a 2G network to a dual mode 2G/session initiation protocol (SIP) device are disclosed. According to one method, a 2G mobility location information query message requesting mobility location information for delivering a call to a dual mode 2G/SIP device roaming in a SIP-based network is received at a communications signal message routing node, wherein the mobility information query message includes a destination subscriber identifier associated with the dual mode 2G/SIP device. SIP mobility location information is determined based on the destination subscriber identifier and the SIP mobility location information is provided to the query originator.
