Abstract: Herein is described a glucose annunciator comprising: i) a data eavesdropping interface configured to acquire blood glucose data transmitted by a wireless glucose monitor, the blood glucose data indicating a blood glucose level of a subject; and ii) an alert generator coupled to the data eavesdropping interface and configured to generate at least one of an audible indicium, a visible indicium, or a haptic indicium based on the blood glucose data but remote from the wireless glucose monitor. The indicium at least generally indicates the blood glucose level of the subject without requiring access to the wireless glucose monitor. It is further described the corresponding method of announcing blood glucose level.

Abstract: A non-invasive system and method are provided. Brain activity of a user is detected using a non-invasive brain interface when the user is exposed to an external stimulus. The user is determined to be negatively primed by the external stimulus based on the detected brain activity. An alert that the user is being negatively primed by the external stimulus is automatically provided. A tagged training session may be automatically provided to the user in response determining that the user has a negative mental state, thereby promoting a positive mental state of the user. A training session list containing the tagged training session may be automatically modified based on the determined mental state of the user.

Abstract: Methods and systems for positional sleep therapy for sleep apnea and other disorders are disclosed. A method may include receiving first data indicative of a person's sleeping position from a first sensor and receiving second data indicative of a respiratory condition, a cardiac condition, a snoring condition, and/or an SpO2 level from a second sensor. The method may further include calculating a position-based risk value from the first data and calculating at least one biometric-based risk value from the second data. The method may further include comparing the calculated risk values to at least one threshold risk value to determine if at least one wake rule has been triggered. If at least one wake rule has been triggered, a stimulation component may be commanded to impart a wake stimulation to the person.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and an analysis apparatus for determining an operational state of a contact device. The method comprising detecting a change in one of temperature and/or proximity data of a contact surface of the contact device with reference to a baseline value. Thereafter, the method comprising generating at least one of temperature profile and proximity profile from the detected change in the at least one of temperature and/or proximity data of the contact surface of the contact device and the baseline value. Lastly, the method comprising comparing the at least one of temperature profile and/or proximity profile with corresponding standard profiles stored in a memory of an analysis apparatus and determining the operational state of the contact device based on the comparison. The contact device may be one of a contact surface, a stethoscope, or a surface monitor.

Abstract: An intelligent wearable device is disclosed. The intelligent wearable device is configured to monitor and obtain biological data associated with a user wearing the device and environmental data associated with an environment that the user is located in through the use of a plurality of sensors of the wearable device. Once the biological and environmental data are obtained, the intelligent wearable device may compare the data to a threshold value that is associated with the safety of the user. If the comparison indicates that the data is outside the threshold value, the intelligent wearable device may output a signal indicating that the user is experiencing an event. The intelligent wearable device may also generate feedback indicating an action to perform in response to the event. The intelligent wearable device may notify devices associated with other users, who may be able to assist the user experiencing the event.

Abstract: The present document relates to a fetal heart rate monitoring device for monitoring a heart rate of a fetus. The device comprises a carrier that is attachable to a body, a fetal electrocardiographic sensor for providing an output signal, and a reference sensor for filtering the output signal. The device also comprises an actuator arrangement comprising a plurality of actuators distributed in an area around the fetal electrocardiographic sensor. Each actuator is configured for providing a haptic signal to the body. A controller communicatively connects to the fetal electrocardiographic sensor to receive the output signal, and to control the actuators for providing a haptic feedback signal to the body dependent on the output signal. The document also relates to a control method for such a device.
