Abstract:
A gel composition useful in treating the underarm which contains (a) about 0.5 weight % about up to the sprayable amount of a gelling agent; (b) about 0.01 to about 10 weight % of a deodorant active or an odor reducing agent or a mixture thereof; and (c) about 70 to about 99.49 weight % water, wherein the percentages are based on the total weight of the composition.
Abstract:
A process for making a solid cosmetic composition, the process comprising the steps of: forming at least one hot process stream comprising a solvent and a gellant dissolved therein, the hot process stream having a first temperature; forming at least one cold process stream comprising a cosmetic active having a second temperature, wherein the second temperature is at least 5 degrees C below the first temperature; combining the at least one hot process stream and the at least one cold process stream together in a mixing chamber having no moving parts therein and without applying external source of cooling, to form a substantially homogeneous product stream.
Abstract:
A UV-protective water-soluble polyaminoamide comprising UV-absorbing end groups, wherein the polyaminoamide absorbs ultraviolet light radiation having a wavelength of about 200 nm to about 420 nm, compositions comprising the UV-protective polyaminoamide and methods of treating substrates with the UV-protective polyaminoamide.
Abstract:
A stick or soft solid suspension product comprising: (a) 0.01-20 weight % of a polyacrylate superabsorbent polymer (sodium salt), with a salt or ionic strength tolerance under a Baseline Absorption Test sufficient to give at least 25 weight % water absorption; (b) 10-88 weight % of a volatile silicone having a flash point of 100 degrees C or less; (c) a selected gelling agent; provided that the water content is ≤ 2 weight % and the ratio of superabsorber to active salt is in the range of 0.13-4 : 1.
Abstract:
This invention relates to antiperspirant compositions comprising soy products, one ore more antiperspirant agents such as aluminium chlorohydrate and a stabilizing system, which additionally influence hair growth.
Abstract:
A siloxane compound having at least 2 silicon atoms linked by oxygen and at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the general formula -(O)x R'- (Phi2 wherein R' denotes a divalent hydrocarbon radical, x has a value of 0 or 1 and each Phi independently denotes a potentially substituted aryl group, and wherein both potentially substituted aryl groups are linked directly to one and the same carbon atom in the R' group, except that when only one group -(O)x R'- Phi2 is present in the siloxane, either the siloxane contains at least 3 silicon atoms or, where the siloxane contains only 2 silicon atoms, R' equals dimethylene has a high refractive index value. Many of these siloxane compounds have exceptionally interesting refractive indexes, including those above 1.53 or even above 1.55 which is exceptional for traditional silicones. Cosmetic composition comprising such siloxanes are also disclosed, which are preferably selected from colour cosmetic applications, lipstick, nail varnish, mascara, foundation cream, compact powders, hair colorants, hair dyes and hair conditioners.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a VOC-free crystal-clear oil-in-water microemulsion containing up to 30% w/w of an oil, a surfactant system containing a majority of ionic surfactants and a minority of non-ionic surfactants, a w/w oil/surfactant system ratio above 1, up to 10% w/w of a solubilizing-aid ingredient which is not a surfactant neither a VOC compound, and at least 60% of water. The present invention concerns also the articles associated with said microemulsion.

Abstract:
Disclosed are a deodorization method comprising applying a deodorizing base, which has been subjected to a contact treatment with an enzyme, to an offensive odor source; a method of eliminating an offensive odor comprising holding an enzyme and a deodorizing base in a single container in a state of isolating the enzyme from the deodorizing base, then bringing the deodorizing base into contact treatment with the enzyme in the container, and applying the deodorizing base, which has been subjected to the contact treatment with the enzyme, to an offensive odor source; and a deodorant composition containing as the active ingredient a deodorizing base which has been brought into contact with an enzyme.
Abstract:
Stick compositions having desirable sensory properties can be made by employing as primary gellant, a combination of amido structurants comprising (i) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent has the formula -CO-R X in which R X represents a branched C 6 to C 11 alkyl group and (ii) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent contains a linear alkyl group and the cosmetic carrier oil comprising from 25 to 50% by weight of a water-immiscible monohydric alcohol that is liquid at 20 o C and a boiling point of higher than 100 o C.
