A tooth whitening and/or tooth sensitivity strip or film comprising:about 1- 20 wt. % hydroxyapatite (HAP). A process for the manufacture of a tooth whitening strip or film, the process comprising at least the steps of:- mixing at least one or a combination of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymers wherein the amount of the polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymers is greater than 75 wt.% of the film or strip; and- an amount at least about 1- 20 wt.% hydroxyapatite (HAP); and- at least one or a combination of polycarbophils;- with water to provide an aqueous tooth whitening liquid;- applying the aqueous tooth whitening liquid to a substrate to provide a substrate carrying the aqueous tooth whitening liquid;- drying the aqueous tooth whitening liquid to provide a tooth whitening film on the substrate, said film having a thickness from about 50 pm to about 500 pm.

A system for providing a cosmetic article that can deliver oxygen and skin brightening includes a first composition that includes at least one oxidizer; and a second composition that includes a peroxide decomposing catalyst wherein contacting each of the first and second compositions together results in oxygen generation. The system can include in the first composition at least one cross-linkable polymer and in the second composition at least one alkaline booster and at least one catalyst whereby contacting the first and second compositions on a substrate, such as skin, results in cross-linking the cross-linkable polymer to form a continuous film and simultaneous release of oxygen that is contained between the substrate and the film.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to substituted stilbenes and dienones which exhibit unexpected dual activity, as inhibitors of NFKB and as agonists (activators) ofNrf2. In particular, these compounds show dual activity and it has been discovered that these compounds are particularly useful in the treatment of certain cosmetic applications and in rejuvenating and beautifying skin and other keratinous tissue of a subject in need. Cosmetic compositions and methods of using said compositions in combination with other components are disclosed herein.

An agent for dyeing keratin fibers comprises a composition A comprising at least one alkalizing agent, at least one oxidative dye precursor, at least one surfactant and at least one fatty substance free of carboxylic acid groups and a composition B comprising at least one oxidizing agent and at least one surfactant. The concentration of fatty substances free of carboxylic acid groups after mixing composition A and composition B is at least 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the mixed composition A and B. The concentration of alkalizing agent after mixing composition A and composition B is not more than 1.75% by weight relative to the total weight of the mixed composition A and B.

The method includes applying a component A comprising hydrogen peroxide or a precursor thereto to the tooth; applying a component B comprising a catalase to the tooth, thereby generating oxygen; and removing at least a part of the calculus from the tooth; wherein the component A is applied before or after the component B is applied.

A subject-matter of the invention is a) a method for dyeing keratinous substances starting from a dyeing agent chosen from coloured oligomers and polymers obtained from the polycondensation of i) meta-phenylenediamine (MPD) couplers in the presence of ii) one or more ingredients chosen from radical initiators and/or chemical oxidizing agents, b) a composition comprising one or more coloured oligomers and/or one or more coloured polymers as defined above and c) a coloured oligomeric or polymeric dyeing agent obtained by reaction between i) and ii) as defined above, and the use of the coloured oligomer(s) or polymer(s) for dyeing keratinous substances. The dyeing method and the composition according to the invention make it possible in particular to obtain a long-lasting colouration on keratinous fibres which is vivid, chromatic and/or homogeneous.
