Abstract: A dressing for an internal cavity may include a connector, a negative pressure pathway layer, an instillation pathway layer, a negative pressure manifold, and an instillation manifold. The negative pressure manifold can be disposed within the negative pressure pathway layer and the instillation manifold can be disposed within the instillation pathway layer. A proximate end of the negative pressure manifold can be fluidly coupled with a first channel of the connector. The proximate end of the instillation manifold can be fluidly coupled with a second channel of the connector. The negative pressure pathway layer and the instillation pathway layer can be configured to cooperatively form an inner volume therebetween. The inner volume may be configured to receive a space filler. The negative pressure pathway layer, the instillation pathway layer, and the space filler can be collectively configured to be positioned within the internal cavity.

Abstract: The invention provides a device (30) for aspiration and/or irrigation of a wound of a patient. The device has a hollow body (32) made of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or Silastic™ with at least a wound facing side (34) having perforations (36). The device (30) has one or two ports (38), (40) for fluid flow into and out of the body i.e. to or from the wound. Each port has a tubing connector for connection to a liquid supply for irrigation or for connection to a suction or other removal means for aspiration. The perforations (36) are directed towards the wound facing side (34) for fluid flow therethrough, wherein, in use, fluid flows in either chosen direction through the tubing connector and through the perforations. In the embodiment shown the perforations are larger towards the periphery (44) of the wound facing side (34) and smaller towards the centre (46) thereof. In another embodiment the body is in the form of a double spiral coil (12) of perforated plastic tubing (14) of 5cm diameter having an inlet (16) and an outlet (18) and a tubing connector (20) on the side at an open end of the tubing is shown.

Abstract: Described herein are negative pressure drains configured as "rolling" surgical drains including an invertible porous mesh having an expanded configuration so that negative pressure may be applied out of the invertible porous mesh to extend a uniform negative pressure within the body region being treated. Abstract: A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure including a foam member, a sealing layer, and a cover. The foam member may include a felted portion extending a depth into a surface of the foam member and a non-felted portion. The sealing layer may include a treatment aperture and a first plurality of perforations around the treatment aperture. The felted portion may be configured to contact the tissue site through the treatment aperture. A second plurality of perforations may be formed through the felted portion. At least one of the second plurality of perforations may be exposed to the tissue site through the treatment aperture. The cover may include a film disposed over the foam member and coupled to the sealing layer around the foam member and an adhesive disposed adjacent to the second plurality of perforations.
