Abstract: In one aspect, a combinatorial drug delivery device is provided herein including: a plurality of serially connectable modules, each of the modules including at least one drug component; and, a master controller having a computing processing unit. Each of the modules includes: a non-transitory memory having stored therein an address and an alphanumeric code representative of the at least one drug component contained in the corresponding drug module; a secondary controller operatively linked to the memory of the corresponding module; and, at least one communication bus connectable in series with the communication buses of the modules serially connected with the corresponding module. The master controller is configured to serially interrogate the secondary controllers over the serially-connected communication buses, using the addresses, to request the codes of the corresponding modules. Advantageously, the subject invention provides for a system to confirm the accuracy of drugs provided with the device and the correct sequencing thereof.

Abstract: In one aspect, a drug delivery device is provided herein including: a monolithic body having a plurality of fluid ducts and at least one outlet duct formed therein; a plurality of drug cartridges attached to the body, the drug cartridges each including a reservoir for accommodating at least one drug wherein, the plurality of fluid ducts is arranged to convey the drugs from the drug cartridges to the at least one outlet duct; and, a needle support spaced from the body, the needle support including a needle configured for insertion into a patient for drug delivery, the needle support including adhesive for releasable securement to a patient, wherein, the needle support is connected to the body by a flexible tether through which passes at least one fluid passageway formed to convey drug from the at least one outlet duct to the needle.

Abstract: Methods to treat anemia are provided whereby an erythropoietin stimulating agent (ESA) and an iron supplement are administered by a wearable device, based on patient parameters sensed by the wearable device. The method can involve monitoring patient parameters and dosing an ESA and an iron supplement in real-time, via the wearable device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an at least partly implantable system for injecting a substance into a patient's body, comprising: - a housing adapted for implantation inside the patient's body, the housing having an outer wall with a penetration area, - at least one infusion needle disposed in the housing, and - a drive unit arranged for advancing and retracting the at least one infusion needle in opposite advancing and retracting directions so that a tip end of the at least one infusion needle penetrates, upon advancement of the at least one infusion needle, said penetration area so as to allow for injecting the substance through said penetration area via the at least one infusion needle.

Abstract: A delivery assembly includes a console including a vial containment region and a vial engagement mechanism extending from the console within the vial containment region. The engagement mechanism is configured to engage a vial assembly including a particulate material. The delivery assembly further includes a multi-port needle with a top distal port and bottom proximal port(s), the needle configured to puncture a septum of the vial assembly when the vial assembly is in the locked position, in which the top distal port is at a distance above the particulate material in the vial assembly. The ports are configured to inject a fluid into the vial assembly to mix with the particulate material upon actuation of the vial engagement mechanism in a first direction and to receive a resulting mixed fluid from the vial assembly upon actuation of the vial engagement mechanism in a second opposite direction.
