Abstract: Respiratory function can be preserved in patients requiring mechanical ventilation (MV), such as patients with severe COVID-19, using a photoceutical applied by a photoceutical medical device (including at least one super pulsed laser to provide superpulsed light of a first wavelength, at least two non-coherent light sources to provide light of a second wavelength, and at least two other non-coherent light sources to provide light of a third wavelength) to at least one inspiratory muscle. The photoceutical includes a combination of superpulsed light of the first wavelength, light of the second wavelength, and light of the third wavelength. At least two sites on the body of the patient can be selected and the photoceutical can be delivered: at one of the sites for a first time period; and at another of the sites for a second time period.

Abstract: A phototherapy system (100) for treating a user (101) can include an applicator (102), a controller (104), and a communication cable (109) configured to couple the applicator (102) and the controller (104). The applicator (102) can include a light source (106), a thermal sensor (108), and a fan (110). The controller (104) can be in communication with the applicator (102). The controller (104) can be configured to receive a predetermined treatment regimen (105) to be applied to the user (101) via the applicator (102). A method (200) for treating skin presenting a skin condition includes providing a phototherapy system (100). The user (101) can select a skin type on the controller (104). The use can place the applicator (102) adjacent to the skin presenting psoriasis, eczema, or vitiligo. The user can receive a light therapy treatment from the applicator (102), whereby the psoriasis, eczema, or vitiligo has been treated.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to enhanced methods of treating brain disorders, and devices suitable to implement these methods. In particular, the methods of treatment and related devices of the present invention utilize the coordinated application of negative suppressive stimulation of the brain hemisphere with the more negative valence in combination with transcranially applied light energy to the lateral forehead to activate the underlying cortex of the brain hemisphere with the more positive valence, e.g., synergistically. In addition, such methods and devices may be suitable to address co-morbid brain disorders (e.g., psychiatric disorder co-morbid with depression) in a more effective manner.
