    Abstract: There is provided a sperm extender medium for prolonging the fertility of bovine spermatozoa during liquid storage of the spermatozoa. The medium comprises a monosaccharide energy source for the spermatozoa. The one or more α or β amino acid osmolytes are selected from mono-amino carboxylic and mono-amino sulfonic acids, each independently having an R side group selected from the group consisting of H and non-polar, neutral open aliphatic chains excluding branched C3 and longer aliphatic chains. The medium also comprises one or more antioxidants and physiologically acceptable inorganic salts for maintaining sperm viability, and is buffered for maintaining pH in a range of from about 7.0 to about 8.5. Further, in embodiments, the medium has a concentration of sodium ions of less than about 95 mM, and an osmolarity in a range of from about 290 mOsm/L to about 400 mOsm/L. There are also provided preparations comprising the spermatozoa in the medium, methods for preparing the medium and methods for fertilisation of an ovum comprising contacting the ovum with spermatozoa administered in the sperm extender medium.

    Abstract: Methods of enhancing or improving fertility are disclosed. Methods of extending reproductive longevity are disclosed. Methods of increasing oocyte mitochondrial mass or preventing a decrease of oocyte mitochondrial mass are disclosed. Methods of improving embryo development or improving embryo fertilization rate are disclosed. Methods of treating or preventing an ovarian disease or condition are disclosed. Methods of reducing, preventing, or delaying perimenopause, menopause, or a symptom thereof are disclosed. The methods include administering an emblica extract or a compound constituent of or having a similarity score of at least 95% with a compound constituent of an emblica extract, or fucus extract or a compound constituent of or having a similarity score of at least 95% with a compound constituent of a fucus extract, or a chebula extract or a compound constituent of or having a similarity score of at least 95% with a compound constituent of a chebula extract.

    Abstract: 본 발명은 숙지황, 작약, 천궁 및 당귀로 이루어진 한약재 혼합 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 노화에 의한 난소 저반응군의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 한약재 혼합 추출물을 경구투여한 인간의 40세 이상에 해당하는 40주령 마우스에서 동난포(antral follicles) 수, 성숙 난자 수 및 질이 통계적으로 유의미하게 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 여성은 노화에 의해 난소에 있는 원시 난포(primordial follicles) 수가 지속적으로 감소하고 더불어 난자를 배란하기 직전 단계인 동난포(antral follicles) 수가 감소한다. 이에 따라 배란되는 건강한 성숙 난자(MII oocytes)가 감소하여 점차 임신 가능성이 낮아지는데, 본 발명의 한약재 혼합 추출물은 동난포(antral follicles) 수, 성숙 난자 수 및 질을 향상시킬 수 있으므로, 고령의 여성이 임신할 수 있는 가능성을 증가시키는 효과가 있는 것이다.
