In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a first rod formed from a first material and a second rod formed from a second material. The first rod includes a first end defining a cavity exposed at an end of the first rod. The cavity has a cavity length and a cavity width perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the first rod. The cavity length is greater than the cavity width. The second rod includes a first section and a second section. The first section has a width that corresponds to the cavity width and a length that corresponds to the cavity length. The apparatus includes a bonding structure that attaches the first rod to the second rod.

The weld joint is between dissimilar steel alloys and a weldable nickel-base shim is located between faces of the steel alloys prior to welding by an electron beam. Embodiments of an expandable metal sleeve and a metal packer for use as an isolation barrier in a well, are described which include the weld joint.

Zum Diffusionsfügen wird mittels des ersten und/oder des zweiten Stempels (11, 13) ein Druck auf die Fügeteile (21, 22) aufgebracht. Zusätzlich wird auch eine Variation des Druckes eingebracht. Entsprechend der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass der Druck und die Druckvariation über dem ersten Stempel (11) aufgebracht werden, wohingegen der zweite Stempel (13) starr ausgeführt sein kann. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung eine Vorrichtung zum Ausführen dieses Verfahrens.

摘要: A method for forming a metal flow module includes forming a flux retention feature on a first major surface of a first metal plate and then applying flux to the first major surface. The flux retention feature is configured to retain the flux at least in part on the first surface. The method further includes positioning a second major surface of a second metal plate against the first major surface of the first metal plate. The second metal plate has one or more flow channels defined at least in part in the second major surface. The flux is positioned between first contacting portions of the first and second major surfaces. The method further includes heating the first and second metal plates in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to thermally bond the first contacting portions.

摘要: The disclosed method for debarring and chamfering a burred sharp edge, which is defined between two transversely extending sides of workpiece, includes forming a molten pool of material on one of the sides by a laser beam which wobbles transversely to the burred edge. The wobbling amplitude of the laser beam is controlled so that the oscillating beam is prevented from being guided beyond the edge. The heat generated by the molten material is transferred to and liquefies the burrs. As the molten material cools and solidifies, it pools on the surface of the workpiece forming a raised smootcurved surface layer which chamfers the edge.

摘要: The present invention relates to a tube for transporting fluids in seawater. The tube has a tubular body formed of an alloy selected from duplex stainless steel, superduplex stainless steel, a ferritic steel, a martensitic steel or a nickel superalloy and a layer configured to protect the tube from hydrogen induced stress cracking arranged on an outer surface of the tubular body. The layer is formed of an alloy having a copper content of 50 - 95 wt% and a nickel content of 5 - 50 wt%. The tube has a metallurgical bond, formed in the solid state, at an interface between the tubular body and the layer. The metallurgical bond is formed by a hot isostatic pressing process for a predetermined time at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a tube. The present invention also relates to a subsea arrangement.

摘要: A metal hand tool including a handle attached to a blade piece and method of construction. The blade piece includes a blade opposite an elongated tang. The handle is made up of two, welded, symmetrical handle halves, each handle half having an opening for receiving a hang hole piece and a notched distal end for forming a handle opening to receive the blade piece elongated tang. In an embodiment, the handle includes a curved distal end accommodating a curved welded connection between the blade piece and the handle. The hand tool further includes a hang hole piece configured for placement through the hang hole openings in the handle and for welded connection to the handle. In an embodiment, the elongated tang includes a hang hole opening through which the hang hole extends. Some embodiments further include one or more tang guide pieces welded to the interior of the handle.

摘要: A flat plate heat exchanger module for use in aerospace applications, automotive applications, industrial applications or similar. The flat plate heat exchanger module comprises a stack of heat exchanger plates, where at least one of the heat exchanger plates further comprises at least one elongated aperture extending across the surface of the heat exchanger plate. This elongated aperture is in fluid isolation from the fluid flowing across the surface of the heat exchanger plate. The use of at least one elongated aperture throughout the stack of heat exchanger plates minimises the overall effect of the expansion and contraction of the metal due to exposure to high temperature gradients. A method of manufacturing such a heat exchanger module is also provided.

An example method may including positioning a metal housing component adjacent to a polymer housing component so that there is an interface between the metal housing component and the polymer housing component; and forming a seal at the interface between the metal housing component and the polymer housing component to join the metal housing component and the polymer housing component, wherein the joined metal housing component and the polymer housing component form at least a portion of housing for the implantable medical device, wherein the housing of the implantable medical device contains electronic circuitry.
