Abstract:
A stripping composition for use in removing dried, architectural coatings from a substrate to which they are adhered, said coatings containing polymeric binder, the composition comprising, on a weight basis calculated on the total weight of the stripping composition, i) from 8.5 to 40% of a solvent mixture capable of softening and lifting the binder from the substrate; ii) from 15 to 90% of a particulate inorganic material; iii) from 0.1 to 1.5% of a polymeric thickener material wherein the composition is free of film forming polymer other than the thickener.
Abstract:
A paint-stripping composition comprises, on a weight basis, at least 20 % of a benzyl alcohol, together with 5-30 % of methylene chloride, 1-10 % of hydrogen peroxide and 10-60 % of water. The composition may also include auxiliary ingredients such as thickeners, evaporation retardants, surfactants, pH control agents, accelerators, corrosion inhibitors, preservatives, coloring agents, and fragrances.
Abstract:
Abstract:
s floor coating remover composition with abrasive and reduced slip properties under foot. Solid plastic, natural stone or other inorganic or organic grit is incorporated into a floor coating removing formulation to provide a coefficient of friction so that slippage under foot during use is reduced. In the instance of the presence of natural stone grit or other inorganic grit, a stabilizer may be employed to keep the grit in suspension.
Abstract:
A process for the use of an aqueous cleaning composition to remove organic material from a substrate. The cleaning composition preferably includes a nonionic surfactant and may also include a glycol ether solvent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to stabilized foam control compositions, their method of preparation, and their use. The stabilized foam control compositions can be used to control foam in a wide variety of processes and products.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a composition for producing a surfactant having combined cleaning and impregnating properties, containing a long-chained non-fluorinated silane and a perfluorinated silane. According to the invention, a linear cross-linked polysiloxane network is formed by the oligomer/polymer formed from the two silane compounds by hydrolysis and condensation, comprising free reaction points enabling three-dimensional cross-linking.
Abstract:
A non-chrome process for the pretreatment of substrate surfaces to simultaneously clean them and improve their bonding strength for organic coatings such as adhesives, protective primers, sealants, paints, composites and similar materials conventionally bonded to such substrates, including non-chromated or chromated curable organic resin protective coatings applied directly to bare aluminum substrates. The invention involves the use of novel wipe solvent compositions containing a major volume of an environmentally-safe volatile organic solvent which has a low composite vapor pressure or is otherwise exempt from federal, state or local regulations, and a minor volume of a polyfunctional coupling agent, preferably of the silane type.
