Abstract: The disclosure relates to poly alpha-1,6-glucan ether compounds comprising poly alpha-1,6-glucan substituted with at least one positively charged organic group and having a degree of substitution of about 0.001 to about 3.0. The poly alpha-1,6-glucan comprises a backbone of glucose monomer units wherein greater than or equal to 40% of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,6 glycosidic linkages, and optionally about 3% of the backbone glucose monomer units have branches via alpha-1,2 and/or alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages. Compositions comprising a poly alpha-1,6-glucan ether compound can be useful in various applications.

The aqueous polymer dispersions are obtainable by radical aqueous emulsion polymerization of i) ethylenically unsaturated monomers M comprising or in particular consisting of a) at least 70% by weight, in particular at least 75% by weight, especially at least 80% by weight, based on the total weight of monomers M, of at least one monomer Ma, selected from the group consisting of monovinylaromatic monomers, and optionally b) up to 30% by weight, in particular up to 25% by weight, especially up to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of monomers M, of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers Mb, which are different from the monomer Ma; in the presence of ii) 50 to 300% by weight, in particular 70 to 250% by weight, especially 80 to 200% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers M, of a degraded starch.

Abstract: Compositions are disclosed herein comprising at least (a) a derivative of an alpha-glucan, wherein (i) at least about 40% of the glycosidic linkages of the alpha-glucan are alpha-1,6 linkages, and (ii) the alpha-glucan has a degree of substitution (DoS) of about 0.001 to about 3.0 with at least one positively charged organic group (optionally in ether linkage); and (b) an insoluble alpha-glucan, wherein at least about 50% of the glycosidic linkages of the insoluble alpha-glucan are alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages, and the weight-average degree of polymerization (DPw) of the insoluble alpha-glucan is at least 10. The insoluble alpha-glucan can enhance the degree to which the alpha-glucan derivative deposits onto a fiber-containing material/article such as fabric, for example. Methods are further disclosed for preparing compositions comprising an alpha-glucan ether derivative, as well as various applications of using these compositions, such as for controlling microbes on fabric surfaces.

Method of cleaning dishware using the cleaning product comprising the steps of (a) optionally pre-wetting the dishware, (b) spraying the cleaning composition onto the dishware, (c) optionally scrubbing the dishware and (d) rinsing the dishware.
