摘要: Herein discussed is an electrochemical reactor comprising an ionically conducting membrane, wherein the reactor performs the water gas shift reactions electrochemically without electricity input, wherein electrochemical water gas shift reactions involve the exchange of an ion through the membrane and include forward water gas shift reactions, or reverse water gas shift reactions, or both. Also discussed herein is a reactor comprising: a bi-functional layer and a mixed conducting membrane; wherein the bi-functional layer and the mixed conducting membrane are in contact with each other, and wherein the bi-functional layer catalyzes reverse-water-gas-shift (RWGS) reaction and functions as an anode in an electrochemical reaction.

摘要: An apparatus for electrolysing seawater is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises diaphragm-less electrolytic cells comprising an anode and a cathode. The anode comprises a plurality of anode cells in series and the cathode comprises a plurality of cathode cells in series to control the cell voltage and substantially prevent the production of oxygen and chlorine in the cells while hydrogen is being produced. Also disclosed is a membrane type Unipolar electrolytic cell when used to process alkaline seawater to produce twice the hydrogen and oxygen compared to a conventional electrolysis of seawater.

摘要: There is disclosed an electrolyser (10, 20, 50) for operation at supercritical conditions, in which chambers (200, 210, 520) for retaining respective fluid reaction products are separated by a porous wall which permits a flow of electrolyte fluid therethrough and which inhibits a reverse flow of the respective reaction product. A controller is to control flow control equipment to maintain supercritical conditions for the electrolyte fluid. There is also disclosed a method of operating an electrolyser, and methods of manufacturing compound porous electrodes for such electrolysers.

摘要: A proton exchange membrane-based electrolyser includes an anode, a cathode and a proton exchange membrane, with the anode at a first surface of the membrane and the cathode at a second opposite surface. The cathode includes a cathodic catalyst layer and a cathodic porous transport layer in parallel, with the catalyst layer between the transport layer and the second surface. The electrolyser includes conductive first and second meshes at the side of the anode and the side of the cathode, in which a surface of the first mesh covers the surface of the anodic catalyst layer, and in which a surface of the second mesh covers the surface of the cathodic catalyst layer.
