Abstract:
A coating for paperboard includes polyethylene outer layers and a polyethylene inner layer with calcium carbonate filler. In addition to the lower cost, benefits include a surprising better heat sealing behavior compared with a coating of polyethylene alone.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to boards (11) comprising a mineral content, more particularly magnesiumoxychloride and/or magnesiumoxy sulphate, which in accordance with some embodiments may be finished with a DPL laminate decorative layer (12).
Abstract:
A paperboard blank and cup made therefrom are provided. The blank includes a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side. A first polymer layer can be disposed on at least a portion of the first side of the paperboard substrate, and a second polymer layer can be disposed on at least a portion of the second side of the paperboard substrate. Both the first and second polymer layers can include at least one polymer component that is thermoplastic. The second polymer layer further comprises at least one polymer component, which is not present in the first polymer layer, and has a glass transition temperature higher than all the polymer components of the first polymer layer.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is generally directed to a mold inhibiting composition. The mold inhibiting composition can be used to treat various different substrates, including building material products, such as facing layers for wallboard. In general, any suitable paper product may be treated with the composition. The composition contains a mold inhibiting agent in combination with a defoamer. The mold inhibiting agent may comprise a pyrithione. The defoamer, on the other hand, may comprise an oil based defoamer containing metal oxide particles, such as silica particles. The mold inhibiting composition can be combined with a water repellent and applied to a substrate without excessive amounts of foam or froth being formed. The defoamer is selected so as to not interfere with the resulting water absorption properties of the product.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a use of a coating layer on a paper substrate for blocking oxygen transfer through the coated paper substrate, wherein the coating layer on the paper substrate is obtainable by a process, which comprises the steps of (a) providing a paper substrate with a surface, (b) applying onto the surface of the provided paper substrate an aqueous coating mass, and (c) drying of the paper substrate with the applied aqueous coating mass to obtain the coated paper substrate, wherein the aqueous coating mass contains an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer P, which is obtainable by radically initiated emulsion polymerization of at least 40 parts by weight of styrene and 22 to 49 parts by weight of butadiene and optionally other monomers based on the sum total of the parts by weight of all monomers, which is always 100, in the presence of a first degraded starch. It relates further to a coated paper substrate obtainable with a coating mass comprising the aqueous dispersion of the copolymer P and a further saccharide, which is added after the polymerization of the monomers. It relates also to a process for manufacturing the coated paper substrate obtainable with a coating mass comprising the aqueous dispersion of the copolymer P and the further saccharide.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An impregnated core paper for a decorative laminate, in particular high-pressure decorative laminate, obtained by impregnating a paper substrate with an aqueous impregnating composition comprising one or more resins selected from melamine-ether resins, acrylic resins, epoxy resins, and mixtures thereof.
