Abstract:
Bei einem Verfahren wird aus Kunststoffabfällen und thermoplastischen Kunststoff umfassend Naturfaserbestandteile oder thermoplastischen Kunststoff und Naturfasern (2) ein Formkörper (1) bereitgestellt. Hierbei werden Kunststoffabfälle und thermoplastischer Kunststoff umfassend Naturfaserbestandteile oder thermoplastischer Kunststoff und Naturfasern in eine Mischvorrichtung eingebracht. Die eingebrachten Materialien werden anschließend derart gemischt, dass die Materialien zerkleinert werden und zumindest teilweise aufschmelzen, so dass nach dem Mischen eine im Wesentlichen formbare Grundmasse bereitsteht. Diese zumindest teilweise aufgeschmolzene Grundmasse wird in eine Form zur Formgebung des Formkörpers (1) überführt.

It is described a railroad sleeper for fastening at least one pair of rails (2.2') of 5 a railway network, the railroad sleeper (1) comprising a contact surface (3) on which each rail of the pair of rails (2.2 ') is spaced fixed in relation to each other, the railway sleeper (1) comprising a hollow sector (4) delimited from the association of the contact surface (3) with anchorage walls (5.5'), thus establishing a free portion (17) adjacent to the anchorage walls (5,5') and 10 opposite the contact surface (3), wherein the railroad sleeper (1, 1 ') is manufactured from a composition comprising bending module greater than or equal to 5000 MPa.

Descreve-se um dormente ferroviário (1) para fixação de ao menos um par de trilhos (2,2') de uma malha ferroviária, o dormente ferroviário (1) compreendendo uma superfície de contato (3) em que cada trilho do par de trilhos (2,2') é espaçadamente fixado um em relação ao outro, o dormente ferroviário (1) é configurado pelo fato de que compreende um setor oco (4) delimitado a partir da associação da superfície de contato (3) com as paredes de ancoragem (5,5'), estabelecendo assim uma porção livre (17) adjacente às paredes de ancoragem (5, 5') e oposta a superfície de contato (3). Descreve-se ainda uma configuração em que o setor oco (4) do dormente ferroviário é delimitado por uma superfície de apoio e um processo de fabricação de dormente ferroviário.

The invention provides novel railroad ties manufactured from novel composite materials that possess excellent physical and performance characteristics matching or exceeding existing concrete RRTs. The RRTs of the invention can be readily produced from widely available, low cost raw materials by a process suitable for large-scale production with improved energy consumption and more desirable carbon footprint and minimal environmental impact.
Abstract:
A polymeric composite useful for producing large shaped articles such as railroad crossties comprises a filler component having minimal reinforcing/structural characteristics; and a polymer blend including at least one polymeric stiffening component, at least one polymeric density component, and at least one polymeric flexibility component. The polymer blend can include post-consumer recycled thermoplastic polymers. To produce the composite, a multistage extruder brings a blend of polymer and filler materials to an extrudable threshold without completely liquefying the polymer blend. The extruded blend is cooled within a mold to form a shaped article such as a recycled composite crosstie. Exemplary recycled composite mixtures may include composite polymer materials, such as, polypropylene, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMW), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), ABS, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), and combinations of these polymers. The filler may include talc, fly ash, potash, and combinations of these or other mineral powder products.
Abstract:
A method of maintaining proper distance between railroad rails is disclosed. The method utilizes railroad ties manufactured from a composite of polystyrene and polyolefin components, preferably obtained from recycled plastics. The composite exhibits a dual phase morphology wherein the two phases, polystyrene and polyolefin, intertwine and remain continuous throughout the material.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren, das es auf betriebssichere und kostengünstige Weise erlaubt, Schwellen für den Gleisoberbau herzustellen, die optimierte Gebrauchseigenschaften besitzen. Hierzu sieht das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren folgende Arbeitsschritte vor: a) Bereitstellen einer Mischung, die zu 10 - 60 Masse-% aus einem Granulat eines durch Wärmezufuhr verformbaren Kunststoffs und als Rest aus einem Sand mit einer Schüttdichte von 1,4 - 2,0 g/cm3 besteht; b) Erwärmen der Mischung auf eine Temperatur von 150 - 200 °C; c) Einfüllen der Mischung in eine die Schwelle abbildende Pressform; d) Verpressen der Mischung in der Form mit einem in der Mischung gemessenen Pressdruck von 1 - 5 MPa über eine Pressdauer von bis zu 60 min; e) Entformen der Schwelle aus der Form.
