The present invention relates to an exhaust-gas recirculation cooler (7) for an internal combustion engine system (1), which cooler has a heat exchanger (9) with a housing (10) and at least one flange (14). An installation space-saving design and/or an increased efficiency of the exhaust-gas recirculation cooler (7) results from the fact that the at least one flange (14) has two flange exhaust-gas openings (15) and two flange coolant openings (16), and the housing (10) has, for the respective flange exhaust-gas opening (15), an associated housing exhaust-gas opening (17) and, for the respective flange coolant opening (16), an associated housing coolant opening (18), wherein at least one of the housing coolant openings (18) is arranged on the side of the housing (10) that faces the associated flange coolant opening (16). The invention further relates to an internal combustion engine system (1) having such an exhaust-gas recirculation cooler (7).

A marine outboard motor (2) has an internal combustion engine (100) including an engine block (110), at least one cylinder (114), an air intake (120) configured to deliver a flow of air to the at least one cylinder and an exhaust conduit (130) configured to direct a flow of exhaust gas from the at least one cylinder. The internal combustion engine also includes an exhaust gas recirculation system (140) configured to recirculate a portion of the flow of exhaust gas from the exhaust conduit to the air intake. The exhaust gas recirculation system comprises a heat exchanger (150) for cooling recirculated exhaust gas. The heat exchanger has a fixed part which is integral to the engine block and a removable part which is mounted on an external surface of the engine block. In this manner, the heat exchanger is removably integrated into the engine block.

Said cover (3) includes: - a plate (9) dimensioned in order to close an opening (6) of a cavity (4) inserted in the engine block (5), or transmission block, of said motor vehicle, said cavity (4) being capable of accommodating said cooler core (2), - a frame (10) for reinforcing said plate (9), and - an inlet port (11) and an outlet port (12) for the fluid to be cooled, which can be coupled to the cooler core (2) via said plate (9) or reinforcing frame (10).

The invention relates to a system for recirculating exhaust gas in an internal combustion engine. A connecting line (4; 10, 13; 26) for the recirculated exhaust gas is connected to an intake pipe (2; 15; 22), cooling elements being arranged in between. The cooling element may be e.g., a cooling channel (5; 18; 19; 25) for liquid coolant, integrated into the flange-type connection joining the connecting line (4; 10, 13; 26) to the intake pipe (2; 15; 22), or may be another heat conductive element.

A heat exchanger is provided. The heat exchanger includes a bundle of elongated tubes having open ends for a first fluid, a pair of manifolds and a housing. The pair of manifolds located on both sides of the open ends of the elongated tubes. The housing is configured to form a conduit for the second fluid and at least partially encapsulating the elongated tubes. The housing includes an inner surface facing the elongated tubes and at least one connection point formed by two perpendicular portions of the housing. Further, one of the perpendicular portions has a bent section forming the connection point by parallel arrangement with the other portion. The heat exchanger further includes at least one sealing portion located at least within the housing, so that the sealing portion overlaps at least portion of the connection point adjacent to at least one manifold.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Abgaswärmeübertrager (1), mit einem Rohrbündel (3) mit abgasführenden Rohren (4), die eingangsseitig in einem ersten Rohrboden (5) und ausgangsseitig in einem zweiten Rohrboden (6) gehalten sind, - mit einem, von einem Kühlmittel durchströmten, Gehäuse (2), welches das Rohrbündel (3) umschließt und einen Kühlmitteleinlass (8) und einen Kühlmittelauslass (9) aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass das Rohrbündel (3) einen gestuften Außenumfang und das Gehäuse einen runden Querschnitt aufweisen, so dass zwischen dem Rohrbündel (3) und dem Gehäuse (2) Kühlmittelbypasskanäle (10) angeordnet sind, dass der Kühlmitteleinlass (8) im Bereich des zweiten Rohrbodens (6) und der Kühlmittelauslass (9) im Bereich des ersten Rohrbodens (5) angeordnet sind, dass die Kühlmittelbypasskanäle (10') zumindest teilweise durch ein Inlay (11) versperrt sind, das einen Kühlmittelstrom (14) gezielt in Richtung des ersten Rohrbodens (5) und zwischen die Rohre (4) lenkt und diesen/diese kühlt.
