    Abstract: A sensor apparatus for wellbore applications includes an electrical conductor extending within an armored tubular jacket to protect the electrical conductor. The electrical conductor is isolated from wellbore fluids when the sensor is placed in a wellhead flange by redundant seals such that the tubular jacket around the conductor does not provide a leak path to the surrounding subsea or surface environment. To isolate the electrical conductor, a connector housing may be provided that establishes a seal with the electrical conductor. For example, a glass-metal seal or a PEEK-metal seal may be established between the electrical conductor and the connector housing. The connector housing may be welded or otherwise sealed to a Christmas tree flange that connects to the wellhead flange. The welds and seals of the sensor apparatus may be proof tested to ensure their effectiveness before the Christmas tree flange is installed in the subsea or surface environment.

    Abstract: An electrical connector (11) having an electrical conductor member (41) with openings (43) on each end. Grab rings (47) mounted in the openings (43) have inner diameters containing teeth (61) with crests (65) defining a superimposed inner diameter (69). The teeth (61) of the grab rings (47) deflect and frictionally engage the outer diameter of inserted wires (37) to retain them in the openings (43). A sleeve (53) of insulation material covers an exterior of the conductor member (41). The sleeve (53) has ends (53a) that protrude past the openings (43) and receive an insulation layer (35) of the wires (37). Resilient electrical contact members (51) are recessed from the grab rings (47) in the openings (43). The electrical contact members (51) have inner portions (75) biased into contact with the electrical wires (37) and outer portions (73) biased into contact with the conductor member (41).
