Abstract: An example device for processing extended reality (XR) data includes a processors configured to: parse entry point data of an XR scene to extract information about one or more required virtual objects for the XR scene, the required virtual objects including a number of dynamic virtual objects equal to or greater than one, each of the dynamic virtual objects including at least one dynamic media component for which media data is to be retrieved; initialize a number of streaming sessions equal to or greater than the number of dynamic virtual objects using the entry point data; configure quality of service (QoS) and charging information for the streaming sessions; retrieve media data for the dynamic virtual objects via the streaming sessions; and send the retrieved media data to a rendering unit to render the XR scene to include the retrieved media data at corresponding locations within the XR scene.

Abstract: A method for performing live-streaming of user-generated content over a media-streaming network, including transmitting, by a 5th generation media streaming (5GMS)-aware application, a live-streaming request corresponding to the user-generated content to a 5GMS application provider (AP); receiving, by the 5GMS-aware application, from the 5GMS AP, an edge application server (EAS) profile corresponding to the live-streaming request, wherein the EAS profile indicates a service class (SC) from among a plurality of SCs, the SC corresponding to the live-streaming request; selecting, by the 5GMS-aware application, a 5GMS application server (AS) based on the SC; and performing the live-streaming of the user-generated content over 5GMS network to the 5GMS AS according to the SC.

Abstract: Embodiments include methods, for a first radio access network node (RNN) in a wireless network, for configuring quality of experience (QoE) measurements by user equipment (UEs). Such methods include sending, to a UE connected to the first RNN, a QoE measurement configuration for one or more services provided by an application layer of the UE; and sending, to the UE, a configuration for access-layer multi-connectivity of the UE with a second RNN in the wireless network. Such methods also include receiving one or more QoE measurement reports, in accordance with the QoE measurement configuration, from at least one of the UE and the second RNN. The QoE measurement reports include measurements made by the UE while in multi-connectivity with the first and second RNNs. Embodiments also include complementary methods for a second RNN and a UE, as well as RNNs and UEs configured to perform such methods.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a system (120) of a communication network (100) for estimating bitrate of an encrypted video stream sent between a service provider (130) and a communication device (150) through a core network (140), the video stream comprising packets, the video stream at least partly having a quasi-periodic, bursty nature. The method comprises obtaining information on arrival time and payload size of the packets of the video stream, and segmenting the video stream into chunks, by, per packet, determining packet interarrival times, and when the determined packet interarrival time is above a first threshold, determining end of a current chunk and a definite length of the current chunk, when the determined packet interarrival time is below the first threshold, determining a preliminary length of the current chunk, when the preliminary length is above a second threshold, determining end of the current chunk, and that the preliminary length of the current chunk is the definite length of the current chunk, when the preliminary length of the current chunk is below the second threshold, add the current packet to the current chunk. The method further comprises estimating the bitrate of the video stream based on the payload size of the packets and the determined definite chunk lengths.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, method, and user interface to facilitate augmented reality based communication between multiple users over a network. Session configuration data including configuration parameters of a virtual interaction session with a first user is received from a first device. The configuration parameters include an identifier of a second user that is permitted to join the virtual interaction session and a micro-chat duration that defines a time limit for a real-time communication link between the first and second user during the virtual interaction session. The real-time communication link between the first and second user by causing display, by the second device, of a live camera feed generated at the first device. Upon expiration of the micro-chat duration, the real-time communication link between the first and second user is terminated.
