摘要: Provided is a biological specimen holder for positioning multiple specimens for imaging by a light-sheet microscope. The specimen holder allows developing plant embryos, small intact animals, or organs to be imaged in the light-sheet microscope in a single setting. The specimen holders significantly improve the imaging conditions with respect to the standard glass capillary system. Also provided is a semi-automatic image processing pipeline that quantifies cell divisions of plants imaged with both the glass capillary and the novel chambers. Plants imaged using the specimen holder undergo cell divisions for a period at least 16 times longer than those imaged with a glass capillary system and allow increased sample throughput and the option of incorporating light emitting diode (LED) lights to generate a light-controlled environment are also advantages.

摘要: A centrifuge includes an electric motor and is composed of a centrifuge outer frame (47), a heavy liquid collecting tank (1.8), a lower hollow shaft (22), centrifugal units, an upper hollow shaft (38) and a light liquid collecting tank (41 ). The heavy liquid collecting tank, the lower hollow shaft, the upper hollow shaft and the light liquid collecting tank are all fixed to the centrifuge outer frame. The centrifugal units are fixed between the upper hollow shaft and the lower hollow shaft. The motor is connected to the upper hollow shaft and drives it The upper hollow shaft is fixed to two or more centrifugal units connected in series and makes the units rotate. The hollow portion of the upper hollow shaft communicates with the light liquid collecting tank. The centrifugal units are fixed to the lower hollow shaft and make it rotate. The heavy liquid collecting tank is a casing formed between the centrifuge outer frame and the centrifugal units. The inventive centrifuge has many advantages, such as simple structure, less occupied space, low energy consumption, complete separation effect, convenient operation and high practicability.

摘要: This invention relates to a handheld, hand-powered centrifuge device. The device preferably includes a centrifuge body and a sample-holding member connected to a tether. The device centrifuges the sample by a user physically spinning the member preferably in a vertical arc. The device preferably includes a pull handle which allows a user to shorten the length of the tether to reduce the circumference of the arc, thereby increasing the speed of rotation and centrifugal force on the sample. The device also preferable includes a brake to prevent the member from contacting the handheld centrifuge body. The centrifuge body may have a storage cavity for storing the pull handle when not in use, wherein the member serves to seal the storage cavity when not in use.

摘要: Upon cleaning of a relatively heavy liquid from small amounts of relatively light liquid the liquids are first introduced into a container (1), in which the light liquid is allowed to collect on the surface of the heavy liquid. Then a surface layer of the liquid body (4) in the container (1), constituting a mixture of the two liquids, is brought to flow over an overflow outlet member (14) into a collecting chamber (15). From the collecting chamber (15) the liquid mixture is pumped further on to a centrifugal separator, from where cleaned relatively heavy liquid is returned to the container (1). According to the invention the liquid mixture is pumped from the collecting chamber (15) to the centrifugal separator by means of a pumping member (17), which is connected with the rotor (16) of the centrifugal separator and, thus, rotates therewith. Hereby, the cleaning operation in question may be performed by means of a simple and non-expensive device.
