Abstract:
A system and method of controlling the input and output speed of a continuous sheet of stock material is provided. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and method used to perform an operation on a continuous sheet of stock material in a high speed manufacturing system. The continuous sheet of stock material may subsequently be received by a second system that performs a different operation on the stock material. In one embodiment, the second system forms the stock material into tabs for container end closures. The system includes an infeed accumulation device and an outfeed accumulation device. The infeed and outfeed accumulation devices enable the system to operate at a variable rate and out of phase with a high speed, coil fed manufacturing system to which the system may be removably integrated.
Abstract:
An arrangement for controlling pressure medium in accordance with the sequence of a fibre-web machine, in which the fibre-web machine is arranged to form or handle a fibre-web reel, whereby the sequence comprises a high volume flow transfer motion and a low volume flow process motion of pressure medium operated actuators of the fibre-web machine, whereby the pressure and volume flow of pressure medium are produced by a pressure medium power unit (1). The pressure medium power unit (1) comprises as the power source an electric motor (10i) which is arranged controllable by an inverter (31) the control sequence of which is connected to the control sequence of the fibre-web machine such that the control of the pressure and volume flow of the pressure medium power unit (1) is predictable in accordance with the sequence of the fibre-web machine.
Abstract:
A dual-mount roll dispenser has a cover and a body. The body portion is adapted for recess mounting but is also suitable to be exposed in a wall mount application. The hinge or pivots that permit the cover to be opened are positioned sufficiently far forward that, together with the shape of the cover, the cover can be opened wide even when more than half the depth of the dispenser is recessed with a surrounding wall.
Abstract:
An apparatus for lifting a roll of previously wound material and for unwinding the material from the roll is disclosed. The apparatus includes a hollow column (28) around which a lift arm assembly (76) is moved from a load position to an unwind position. A lifting mechanism (56) for lifting the roll after it is loaded at the load position is also provided. A plurality of lift arm assemblies (76) can be rotated into an unwinding position. The lift arm assembly supports the roll without the use of a shaft through the core of the roll. A drive motor is provided which includes a splined shaft for engaging the roll and turning the roll to unwind the material therefrom.
Abstract:
Apparatus for applying protective tack film (16) having tack and non-tack surfaces to upward facing panels of vehicles, having an applicator unit (6) suspended for vertical movement above a path of movement of a vehicle to be protected, the unit including a primary applicator roll (8) engaging the non-tack surface of the film and extending transversely of the unit so as to apply the film to an upper surface of the vehicle as it moves along said path, means (12) to apply vertical movement to the unit, and means (10) sensing upward pressure applied to the unit through the applicator roll to control the vertical movement application means to maintain substantially constant pressure between the applicator roll (8) and the vehicle, and means to provide tack film from a supply roll to the applicator unit, the applicator unit further including a drive roll (18) driven by a motor to draw tack film from the supply roll, a vacuum manifold arranged to apply vacuum to points distributed over an outside surface of the roll in contact with said tack film to hold the latter against the roll, and means to detach a length of film applied to the vehicle while leaving the end of the film from which the length was detached held to the applicator roll (8).
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a first and a second curved guides (36, 37), which are fed with respectively a first and a second film (20) made of a heat-formable material. First and second sensor means (56, 57) are situated at the outlet of the curved guides (36, 37) to detect the presence of leading edges of these films (20) thus making them stop in a position, in which they are ready to be fed to the packaging machine. Downstream of the curved guides (36, 37), there is a station (60), in which the leading edge and the trailing edge of the first and second films (20) are spliced. This splicing station (60) is equipped with sensor means (58) to detect running out of the first film (20) and command the supply of the second film (20). The splicing station includes also a cutting group (66), which is operated crosswise to the film (20) advancement direction (A), to cut respectively, a terminal part (200) and beginning part (201) of the films (20). The splicing station (60) is equipped also with a taping group (76), that moves in the same plane as the cutting group (66) and supports an applying roller (81) to which an adhesive tape is supplied from a reel (80) to be applied to the films (20) edges.
Abstract:
An adapter (1) for dispensers receiving coreless toilet paper rolls (3) having a receptacle (2) into which to place a coreless toilet paper roll (3) and at least one suspension arrangement (8) for fastening the adapter (1) to conventional mountings (9) of wall mounted dispensers (10) use for core-type toilet paper rolls.
Abstract:
A dispenser (100), a flexible sheet material roll (12), and a dispensing system for dispensing flexible meterial from the sheet material rolls. The system includes a rolled products dispenser and sheet material rolls. The dispenser includes opposing lateral side wall surfaces (104, 114), and a guide track (110, 111) located in each of the lateral side wall surfaces. At least one of the two guide tracks includes an elongated guide projection (124). Each sheet material roll includes flexible sheet material wound around a hollow center core having first and second ends, and first (118) and second (119) end caps positioned in respective ends of the hollow center core (116). Both end caps have an inwardly projecting portion located side the hollow centre core, and an outwardly projecting cylindrical spindle (120, 121) extending outwardly past their respective end of the hollow center core. The spindles guide the roll within the guide tracks of the dispenser. The spindle of one of the end caps includes at least one annular groove (126) in its circumference which interfaces with the elongated guide projection of the guide track, to provide a system where the roll is keyed to fit the dispenser. This assures proper orientation of the rolls in the dispenser, and provides an arrangement for coordinating the quality of the rolls being dispensed from specific dispensers.
