The disclosure relates to a quaternized styrenic block copolymer (QSBC) and a cross-linked QSBC (xQSBC). The QSBC comprises at least one block copolymer selected from a triblock copolymer, a tetrablock copolymer, a pentablock copolymer, and mixtures thereof. The block copolymer contains at least one block A or A', each independently derived from a vinyl aromatic monomer and a block B derived from a conjugated diene monomer or a combination of a vinyl aromatic monomer and a conjugated diene monomer. At least one polymerized vinyl aromatic unit in the block A and/or A' comprises a quaternary ammonium group. The xQSBC shows high ion conductivity, improved dimensional stability, and balanced mechanical properties. The QSBC has applications in anion exchange membranes (AEMs), fuel cell, electrolyzer, etc.

A curable primer composition comprising: (a) a curable component such as methacrylate; (b) a cure initiating component; and (c) a polymer material selected from the group consisting of: (i) block polymers represented by S-A-S where S is polystyrene and A stands for a polymer or copolymer formed from one or more of ethylene, propylene, butylene, and styrene, which are optionally substituted with carboxylic acid or maleic anhydride; provided that when A comprises styrene then A is a copolymer of styrene with at least one of ethylene, propylene and butylene, and is optionally substituted with carboxylic acid or maleic anhydride; and (ii) polystyrene-poly(ethylene-propylene) (“SEP”); and (iii) any combination of said polymer materials. The composition is applied to a part then photocured. It is dry to touch. Thereafter a thermoplastic material such as a polyolefin is overmolded (e.g. injection molded) over the applied composition. It enhances bond strength of the polyolefin to the part.

The sheet for protecting coatings according to the present invention is characterized by including a supporting substrate and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed at least on one side thereof, containing a rubber-based polymer and an aliphatic (meth)acrylic oligomer having a glass transition temperature of 30 to 100°C and a weight-average molecular weight of 1000 to 20,000, wherein the blending amount of the (meth)acrylic oligomer is 0.02 to 1 wt part with respect to 100 wt parts of the rubber-based polymer.

An aqueous dispersion composition for imparting chipping resistance which comprises water and dispersed therein a nonvolatile ingredient (film-forming ingredient) comprising a thermoplastic olefin elastomer or an optionally hydrogenated block copolymer of styrene and a conjugated diene. Use of the aqueous dispersion composition as a water-based primer or as an additive for water-based coating compositions gives a coating film which not only has excellent chipping resistance but is excellent in properties including film appearance, adhesion, heat resistance, moisture resistance, and gasoline resistance.

The present invention relates to elastomeric articles prepared from novel anionic block copolymers of mono alkenyl arenes and conjugated dienes, and to blends of such block copolymers with other polymers. The block copolymers are selectively hydrogenated and have mono alkenyl arene end blocks and controlled distribution blocks of mono alkenyl arenes and conjugated dienes. The block copolymer may be blended with at least one other polymer selected from the group consisting of olefin polymers, styrene polymers, amorphous resins, and engineering thermoplastic resins.

This invention relates to curable strippable adhesive and coating films, and also to improved high performance pressure sensitive adhesives. The adhesive comprises:(a) from 10 to 90 percent by weight of a crosslinkable epoxidized diene polymer,(b) from 0 to 70 percent by weight of a diene mono-ol polymer, with the condition that the mono-ol polymer not exceed three times the weight of the epoxidized polymer,(c) from 5 to 40 weight percent of a block copolymer of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a diene having, on average, more than one vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block per molecule, and wherein the block copolymer can be functionalized by grafting onto it from 0.1 to 5% by weight of a carboxylic acid or anhydride, preferably maleic anhydride,(d) from 0 to 65% percent by weight of a tackifying resin, and(e) from 0.01 to 3 percent by weight of a photoinitiator.
