There is provided an adhesive resin composition suitable for a multilayer structure which retains sufficient adhesive strength even when in contact with gasoline or light gas oil, and has excellent long-term durability and durability in high-temperature fuels and excellent adhesive strength at high temperature. The adhesive resin composition of the invention includes a modified ethylene polymer (A1) which is graft-modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof and which has a density of 930 to 980 kg/m 3 , and an unmodified ethylene polymer (A2) having a density of 910 to 929 kg/m 3 , wherein the adhesive resin composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) [ASTM D 1238 (temperature: 190°C, 2160 g load)] of 0.1 to 3 g/10 min and a density of 920 to 930 kg/m 3 and has an elution amount of 60 wt% or less at 85°C or lower as determined by cross-fractionation chromatography. The present invention also relates to a multilayer structure formed by using the adhesion resin composition.

The present invention relates to a ultra-violet curable pressure sensitive adhesive comprising an acrylic polymer and a cationic photoinitiator, wherein said acrylic polymer comprises: (i) an acrylic monomer consisting of an acrylic or methacrylic acid derivative of the formula CH 2 =CH(R 1 )(COOR 2 ), wherein R 1 is H or CH 3 and R 2 is C 1-20 alkyl chain; (ii) a monomer, wherein the monomer (a) comprises a pendant reactive functional groups selected from both (1) cycloaliphatic epoxide, oxetane, benzophenone or mixtures thereof, and (2) monosubstituted oxirane, and (b) wherein said monomer contains from 0.001 to 0.015 equivalent per 100g of said acrylic polymer; and said acrylic polymer is free of multi-(meth)acrylate.

In the method, a maleated polyolefin is blended, in sequence, with a polyolefin elastomer and then with a linear low density polyethylene. A sealant resin composition comprises 60 to 95 weight percent of ethylene polymer (PE) and 5 to 40 weight percent of 1-butene polymer (PB), wherein a melt flow rate (MFR) ratio between the two polymers (MFRPE/MFRPB) is not less than 1. A laminated film obtained by extrusion laminating the resin composition as a sealant film layer over a substrate film adheres tightly to other plastic film by heat sealing and gives a low degree of dependence of heat seal strength on temperature in the heat sealing stage. At the same time the laminated film has an easy peel feature, such that it is readily separated from sealed surfaces after heat sealing, and does not develop any phenomenon of resin threading from the sealed surfaces when they are peeled apart. Accordingly the resin composition is suitably used for the food packaging material.

This invention relates to a film comprising a machine direction oriented polymeric film prepared from (A) at least one propylene homopolymer or copolymer or lend of two or more thereof, wherein (A) has a melt flow rate from about 6 to about 30 and (B) an olefin elastomer having a melt flow rate of 0.5 to 10. In one embodiment, the film also contains a nucleating agent. In one embodiment, these films are clear. The films have good stiffness and clarity with low haze. These films are useful in preparing labels and may be used as a monolayer film or in a multilayer film. In one embodiment, the films are printable. Die-cut labels are also described which comprise a composite comprising the extruded, machine-direction oriented polypropylene copolymer films of the present invention in combination with an adhesive associated with said copolymer films for adhering said label to a substrate. Multilayer composites also are described which comprise a label facestock material comprising an extruded oriented multilayer film of the present invention, an adhesive layer associated with said facestock material, and a release-coated liner or carrier. Combinations of the labels of the present invention joined with layer of adhesive to a substrate such as glass bottles also are described.
