Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing the quaterrylene-3,4:13,14-tetracarboxy diimides of general formula (I), wherein R, R' independently represent hydrogen or optionally substituted C1-C30 alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl or aryl or hetaryl. The inventive method is characterized by reacting the perylene-3,4-dicarboximide of the general formula (IIa) in the presence of a base resistant, high-boiling, organic solvent and an alkali-containing or alkaline earth-containing base with the perylene-3,4-dicarboximide of the general formula (IIb), wherein X represents hydrogen, bromine or chlorine.
Abstract:
This invention relates to process for preparing fluorinated dyes selected from the group consisting of compounds of the general formulae (I) and (III) and mixtures thereof by reacting the corresponding compounds which do not have R12 or R30 as substituents with compounds of the general formula R12A or R30A where A is selected from the group consisting of I and Br, the compounds obtained from said process and and the use of these fluorinated dyes in electrophoretic displays.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of specific naphthalocyanine chromophores with different axial substituents as almost colourless IR absorbers for security printing applications.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to specific Ga-naphthalocyanine chromophores with short chain alkoxy axial substituents, their use as almost colourless IR absorbers, for optical filter applications; especially for plasma display panels, or for laser welding of plastics. The compounds may be used in compositions for inks, paints and plastics, especially in a wide variety of printing systems and are particularly well-suited for security applications.
