Abstract: A method of operating a wireless device in a radio access network may be provided where an active time is defined for monitoring of downlink transmissions in an idle state following a connected state. The method may include providing wireless communication with the radio access network in a connected state. A disconnect message may be received including an indication to disable monitoring of downlink transmissions in the idle state. Responsive to receiving the disconnect message including the indication to disable monitoring of downlink transmissions in the idle state, a power saving mode for the wireless device may be initiated without waiting a duration of the active time after receiving the disconnect message.

The various aspects efficiently identify suspicious or performance-degrading mobile device behaviors without requiring an excessive amount of processing, memory, or energy resources. Various aspects may correct suspicious or performance-degrading mobile device behaviors. Various aspects may prevent identified suspicious or performance-degrading mobile device behaviors from degrading the performance and power utilization levels of a mobile device over time. Various aspects may restore an aging mobile device to its original performance and power utilization levels.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to one or more computer-readable media having instructions stored thereon, that when executed by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to obtain, from an evolved Node B (eNB) of a wireless communication network, a time domain averaging indicator having a single bit to indicate whether the UE is to restrict interference measurement to a number of recently received CSI-IM resources in a single subframe or not; derive an interference measurement based on said indicated number of recently received CSI-IM resources in said single subframe; compute a channel quality indicator (CQI) value based on the derived interference measurement; and report the CQI value to the eNB. Furthermore this disclosure relates to an apparatus comprising one or more processors and one or more of the computer-readable media.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples is a method for providing a HARQ response in an LTE network for a PUCCH format 1b. The method includes receiving one or more downlink assignments of a bundling window over a wireless downlink control channel; setting a reception status for each sub-frame of a downlink data channel in the bundling window based on whether the sub-frame on the downlink data channel was associated with a particular one of the received downlink assignments and based upon whether the sub-frame was successfully received; setting a reception status of sub-frames of the downlink data channel in the bundling window that did not have a corresponding downlink assignment to a predetermined value; and transmitting a response, the response based upon the reception statuses set by the response module.

Abstract: To provide a startup UI presentation portable device capable of automatically presenting a preset UI highly likely to be used next in the current posture when returned from a sleep mode, the portable device (1), when returned from the sleep mode (S1), determines whether the posture (S2) of the portable device (1) sent from a built-in acceleration sensor is within a specified range of a reference posture predetermined for each of a camera, a projector and a direction indicator (S3). When the posture is within the specified range (YES in S3), the portable device (1) displays a startup UI (icon) previously associated as a startup UI for a function most likely to be used in the reference posture on a display screen (S5). The display of the startup UI is performed automatically subsequent to release of the sleep mode, without requiring an unlock operation or password entry.

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method for activating and deactivating multiple secondary cells (150A-B) includes receiving a first message requesting activation or deactivation of a first secondary cell (first SCell) (150A) for a first carrier. In response to the first message, a first procedure is initiated to activate or deactivate the first SCell (150A). The wireless device (110A) may have a first delay period (T activate_basic ) within which to complete the first procedure. While performing the first procedure to activate or deactivate the first SCell (150A), a second message to activate, deactivate, configure or deconfigure a second SCell (150B) for a second carrier is received. In response to receiving the second message to activate, deactivate, configure, or deconfigure the second SCell (150B), the first procedure may be modified by replacing the first delay period with a second delay period (T activate_total ) within which to complete the first procedure to activate or deactivate the first SCell (150A). The second delay period (T activate_total ) may be greater than the first delay period (T activate_basic ).

Abstract: A technique is provided for selecting precoding weights in a wireless network to avoid violating a power constraint. The technique may include selecting, by an access point in a wireless network, a set of precoding weights subject to a power constraint, and applying, by the access point, the set of selected precoding weights to a set of antennas to transmit signals to the one or more user devices. Selecting a set of precoding weights may further include calculating, by the access point, the set of precoding weights for each of a plurality of beamformed signals; determining, by the access point, that the set of precoding weights for the plurality of beamformed signals, when applied to a set of antennas for transmitting signals to the one or more user devices, will violate a power constraint; determining, by the access point, that a first set of precoding weights for a first beamformed signal causes a power contribution that is greater than power contributions due to sets of precoding weights of the other beamformed signals; adjusting, by the access point, one or more precoding weights of the first set of precoding weights for the first beamformed signal such that the power constraint will not be violated when the access point applies the precoding weights, including the adjusted first set of precoding weights, to a set of antennas and transmits signals to the plurality of user devices.
