    摘要: A continuous 360 electrically conductive seal between a back shell (30) and an electrically conductive cable braid (46) is provided by a pair of coaxial sleeves (68, 74), a ferrule (56), and an annular shoulder (80), the conductive seal resulting from interference fitting between the sleeves, ferrule and back shell and the shoulder plastically deforming. Outer sleeve (68) is interference fit in ferrule (56). Inner sleeve (74) has its outer periphery interference fit within the outer sleeve and within the back shell. The annular shoulder extends outwardly from the inner sleeve to define forward and rearward facing V-shaped teeth and is comprised of a malleable material adapted to plastically deform within respective teeth extending rearwardly and forwardly from the outer sleeve and the back shell.

    摘要: A proportioning valve assembly (10, 210) in a housing (12,212) is pressure responsive to control the flow of fluid to a wheel brake cylinder. The proportioning valve (20, 220) is connected to a fluid channel (31, 231) opening into a reservoir (13,213), a second valve (34, 234) being disposed in the channel (31, 231) and being engaged by an inertia sensitive ball (40, 240) located either on a ramp (17) or within a recess (235) of the second valve (234). The ball (40) is responsive to deceleration of the vehicle and moves up the ramp (17), or the ball (240) moves multi-directionally from the recess (235) to be both longitudinal and lateral deceleration responsive. Movement of the ball (40, 240) permits the second valve (34, 234) to close and prevent fluid communication between the fluid reservoir (13, 213) and the proportioning valve (20, 220) in order to vary the outlet pressure of the proportioning valve (20, 220) in response to deceleration or cornering of the vehicle. The proportioning valve (20, 220) includes a second piston (80, 280) which has a plunger end (82, 282) that extends within the channel (31, 231) and a bore (303) of a sleeve (301). The sleeve (301) has an orifice (307) to restrict fluid pressure flow from the bore (30) around the plunger end (282) and through the orifice (107, 307) to the channel (31,231). The sleeve (301), orifice (307), and plunger end (82, 282) provide damping of second piston when sudden high pressure applications occur, and thereby eliminate the occurrence of wheel lock-up.

In addition, because of the lower molecular weight of CFC-123 (or CFC-123a) compared to CFC-113 better blowing agent efficiency will be realized per unit weight. Also, the lower boling points of CFC-123 and CFC-123a as compared to CFC-113 results in a more ready conversion of dissolved blowing agent to released gaseous blowing agent by the exothermic phenolic resin polymerization. And because of the lower molecular weight and lower boiling point factors, a lower density foam is realized.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing an electrode (40) for a spark plug. A cylindrical length (10) of inconel wire has a first end (12) with a flat surface thereon. The inconel wire (10) is placed in a die and partially ex­truded to create a cylindrical bore (16) that extends from a second end (14) toward the first end (12). A strip of platinum (18) is welded to the flat surface (12) after which a chamfering (22) operation removes any ex­cess platinum and weld flash to produce a cylindrical tip (18) on said first end. The inconel wire (10) with its platinum tip (18) is placed in a die and struck with a force causing the cylindrical bore (16) to be extended while the platinum flows (24) along the chamfer (22) to completely cover the weld (20). A copper core (26) is inserted in said cylindrical bore (16) and then further struck to extrude the resulting electrode (36) to a de­sired length.

    摘要: The master cylinder (10) comprises a housing (12) having a longitudinal bore (14), an end (24) en­closed by a bearing member (18) which retains a sleeve member (20) within the bore (14), a reservoir (70) mounted on the housing (12) and a pair of pistons (30, 40) slidably received within the bore (14), one piston (30) extending through the end (24) of the sleeve member (20). The one piston (30) has a reduced diameter end (32) which provides seating for a fast fill valving mech­anism (110). The fast fill valving mechanism (110) com­prises a fast fill seal (120) having a flexible arm (122) engaging an interior surface of the sleeve member (20) and the sleeve member (20) having longitudinal grooves (22) adjacent the arm (122), a fast fill spring member (140) trapped between the fast fill seal (120) and a land member (130), the land member (130) having pockets (132) covered by the fast fill spring member (140) and the pockets (132) communicating with passages (133) in the land member (130). The land member (130) engages a flex­ible seal (90) engaging an interior surface (23) of the sleeve member (20). Displacement of the one piston (30) within the bore (14) creates an increasing pressure which will, at a predetermined higher pressure, cause the fast fill spring member (140) to bow into the pockets (132) and permit fluid passage therearound and through the land member (130) to an auxiliary chamber (170) defined by the land member (130), flexible seal (90), and the sleeve member (20).
