A magnetic particle imaging apparatus includes magnets [106,107] that produce a gradient magnetic field having a field free region (FFR), excitation field electromagnets [102,114] that produce a radiofrequency magnetic field within the field free region, high-Q receiving coils [112] that detect a response of magnetic particles in the field free region to the excitation field. Field translation electromagnets create a homogeneous magnetic field displacing the field-free region through the field of view (FOV) allowing the imaging region to be scanned to optimize scan time, scanning power, amplifier heating, SAR, dB/dt, and/or slew rate. Efficient multi-resolution scanning techniques are also provided. Intermodulated low and radio-frequency excitation signals are processed to produce an image of a distribution of the magnetic nanoparticles within the imaging region. A single composite image is computed using deconvolution of multiple signals at different harmonics.

Disclosed is a re-condensation device that allows an NMR analysis device to be reduced in overall size and also minimizes heat penetration into a liquid helium tank. Also disclosed is an NMR analysis device provided with said re-condensation device. The disclosed re-condensation device is provided with: a second cooling member (15), part of which is inserted into a neck tube (24), and which re-condenses liquid helium; and a first cooling member (14), part of which is inserted into the neck tube (24). The second cooling member (15) is thermally connected to a second cooling stage (11b) of a chiller (11), and the first cooling member (14) is thermally connected to a first cooling stage (11a) of said chiller (11). The first cooling member (14) has: a first insertion part (20d), which has a diameter that allows insertion into the aforementioned neck tube (24); and an inside contact part (21) that is provided on the outer surface of the first insertion part (20d) and cools heat seals (8 and 9) by contacting, from the inside, a part of the neck tube (24) that outside contact parts (8a and 9a) contact.

The invention relates to a method which consists of taking a plurality of measurements of the magnetic field using the plurality of sensors; assessing the inductive magnetic excitation; and determining the likely distribution of magnetic sources on the surface of the hull by resolving a system of equations derived from modelling the physical phenomena at play, on the basis of the plurality of measurements taken and the assessed inductive magnetic excitation. The model describes the induced magnetic sources as a distribution of dipolar sources and the remanent magnetic sources as a distribution of monopolar sources. The invention further relates to a device (6) for determining the magnetisation of the hull of a ship for implementing the method.
