    摘要: The embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, an apparatus and a system for bandwidth control, wherein the method comprises: acquiring and identifying a HTTP request message of a stream media-on-demand service, and forwarding the HTTP request message of the stream media-on-demand service to a media server; receiving a HTTP response message which is returned from the media server and corresponds to the HTTP request message of the stream media-on-demand service; parsing the HTTP response message, and obtaining a playback bit-rate of a stream media file to be transmitted; determining a transmission bandwidth allocated practically for the stream media-on-demand service according to comparison result between the playback bit-rate and a user subscription bandwidth allocated initially for the stream media-on-demand service; and controlling the transmission of the stream media file by adopting the determined transmission bandwidth. As such, in the embodiments of the present invention, the bandwidth control is performed directly on the network element, thereby solving the problem in the prior art that there are more interactions between different network elements and the processing overhead of other network elements is additionally increased while the utilization rate of the network resources is simply and effectively increased.

    摘要: A video sequence is to be transmitted at a selectable quality from a server over a network. A network control protocol operates in response to a control parameter to allocate to the server a share of available transmission capacity in proportion to the value of the control parameter. First, one determines a plurality of transmission rate values that are needed over successive time periods of the sequence for successful transmission of the sequence at a reference quality; then the control parameter is set, proportional to the transmission rate value and communicated to the control protocol at corresponding time instants. The sequences can then be transmitted, encoded at a quality from time to time selected in dependence upon the actual transmission capacity made available by the network to the server.

    摘要: A call admission control system and method for Internet Protocol (IP) Differentiated Services (DiffServ) network having at least one node for interpreting signaling messages and controlling traffic load in the network. The method consists of an initialization (601) and a real-time phase (602). In initialization phase (601), coefficients of the approximating hyperplanes are computed (61) and stored (62). This phase is repeated when the descriptor of a traffic class changes (63), which usually happens when nodes are configured or reconfigured. A traffic mix is admissible (67), if for each real-time traffic class both the stability (65) and the delay (66) constraints are fulfilled. Stability is tested by evaluating the number of lost packets and comparing it to the tolerated packet loss ratio for each class in that queue. Delay constraint is tested by checking if the traffic mix is below at least one of the approximating hyperplanes in the space of number of sessions for each class.
