The detecting circuit (42) includes a first vibration sensor (40), a programmable amplifier (50), a frequency bandpass filter (52), a variable threshold comparator (54), and a microprocessor (60) including a pulse rejection network. The microprocessor is electronically connected to control the threshold comparator (54) and the programmable amplifier (50), and activates the object extrusion mechanism (44) when the pulse rejection network generates an internal signal. Also, a method for detecting and removing foreign objects from cut crop material is disclosed.
