    摘要: A power transfer device includes a casing (40), a lubricant reservoir (82) in the casing having lubricant therein, and a shaft rotatably supported in the casing. The shaft extends into the lubricant reservoir (82). A lubricant driving structure is coupled to the shaft (20) for common rotation. The lubricant driving structure includes at least one helically shaped member (34) that extends longitudinally along and circumferentially about the shaft (20). The at least one helically shaped member (34) is located in the lubricant reservoir (82). Rotation of the at least one helically shaped member (34) drives the lubricant axially along the shaft and away from the lubricant reservoir. According to other features, an oil propeller wheel (202) is mounted around a shaft (20) in the power transfer device for rotation therewith. The oil propeller wheel (202) communicates with the lubrication in the lubricant reservoir (82) and is operable to direct the lubricant from the lubricant reservoir (82) axially along the shaft toward the differential assembly.

A mandrel (116) is inserted within the tubular blank and the localized area (108) is then deformed to provide an increased wall thickness. A compression force is applied to the localized area of the one-piece tubular blank using a forging die (126) to form a spindle section, wherein the spindle section closely conforms to at least one of the forging die (126) and the mandrel (116). The remaining portion of the one-piece tubular blank is then cold reduced to form a carrier section.

    摘要: An anti-roll system for vehicular suspension comprising a stabilizer bar (30) having a hollow end, and an end link for interconnecting said hollow end to a suspension member. The end link (52) has a housing and a shank extending from the housing, the shank including a threaded portion and is mounted in the hollow end of the stabilizer bar via a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has first and second locking members (70, 72) each of the first and second locking members having a cooperating planar surface which is skewed to the axis of the hollow end of the stabilizer bar. Furthermore the first locking member (70) has a clearance bore and the second locking member (72) has an internally threaded bore, the threaded portion of the shank disposed through the clearance bore and threadably engaging with the internally threaded bore, so that exertion of an axial clamping force produced by the threaded portion of the shank causes the first and the second planar surfaces to cooperatively shift the first and the second members within the bore to frictionally engage the locking mechanism with the inner surface of the tubular stabilizer bar.

    摘要: Parallel-axis gear differentials include a housing rotatable about a common axis of a pair of output shafts, and a planetary gearset mounted in the housing for interconnecting the output shafts. The gearset includes a pair of side gears positioned within the housing and fixed for rotation with the output shafts, and two or more pairs of meshed pinions journally mounted in gear pockets formed in the housing, with each pinion having a gear segment meshed with a gear segment of the other pinion and with one of the side gears. An anti-tipping mechanism includes brake shoes that are journalled on stub shaft segments of the pinions. Each brake shoe has a first support surface which mates with the outer diameter surface of a corresponding side gear, a second support surface which mates with the outer diameter surface of the gear segment on the adjacent meshed pinion, and a third support surface which mates with the wall surface of the gear pocket. As an optional feature, the interface between the shaft segment of the pinion and the brake shoe can be modified to include a cone clutch for generating supplemental braking forces in response to axial movement therebetween.
