摘要:
The present disclosure is directed to a tissue clip for use in electrosurgical procedures. The tissue clip includes an arm having a first electrode formed thereon. The tissue clip also includes a body pivotally coupled to the arm. The body includes a power source and a second electrode. The arm is moveable from a first position relative to the body for approximating tissue and a second position closer to the body for grasping tissue therebetween.

Systems and methods for steering catheters to facilitate advancing the catheters through the body, wherein the catheters employ multiple steering stages, each of which can move in multiple planes. The steering stages are independently controlled to enable them to form complex shapes. In one embodiment, the steerable catheter includes an elongated catheter body (200) with the steering stages (210, 220) incorporated into the distal end of the catheter. The steering stages may incorporate multiple memory wires (330-333) and corresponding heating elements (340-343) that control the temperatures of the memory wires and consequently control the shapes of the wires and the steering stages in which they are embedded. The catheter may be any type of catheter (e.g., a lumen catheter) and may include features that enable the catheter to perform functions such as delivering therapies (e.g., ablation) to target tissues within the body.
摘要:
A catheter that combines the delivery of radiofrequency, normally used in transcatheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, with a system providing temporary and reversible adhesion to heart tissue, so as to allow the stabilization of the catheter during breathing and pulsations of the heart, leading to more effective and more easily standardized radiofrequency lesions.

Apparatus and method for ablating target tissue including a non-linear area of tissue in the left atrium of a patient. The method can include selecting an ablation apparatus having an ablator with a tissue engagement section, penetrating a chest cavity of the patient, and identifying the target tissue. The method can also include positioning the ablation apparatus adjacent to the target tissue so that the tissue engagement section can transfer ablation energy to the target tissue. The method can further include energizing the tissue engagement section with ablation energy in order to create a footprint on the non-linear area of tissue in the left atrium and to reduce an overall mass of excitable tissue in the left atrium.
摘要:
A cell necrosis apparatus includes an introducer with a distal end sufficiently sharp to penetrate tissue. An energy delivery device has a first set of RF electrodes and a second set of RF electrodes. Each RF electrode of the first and second sets has a tissue piercing distal end and is positionable in the introducer as the introducer is advanced through tissue. The first and second sets of RF electrodes are deployable with curvature from the introducer. The second set of RF electrodes is deployable a greater distance from the introducer than the first set of RF electrodes.
