The invention relates to a chromatography column frame (101 ) comprising at least two legs (102), a support arrangement (104) connected to said at least two legs (102), and a holder means (106) connected to said support arrangement (104). Said holder means (106) is arranged to releasably hold an adaptor rod (138) of a chromatography column (128), so that the adaptor rod (138) is prevented to move in a horizontal direction and so the adaptor rod (138) is allowed to move in a vertical direction. The invention also relates to method of conducting maintenance on and packing of a chromatography column (128).
摘要:
A process for preparing nanoparticle coated surfaces including the steps of electrostatically coating surfaces with polyelectrolyte by exposing the surface to a solution or suspension of polyelectrolyte, removing excess non-bound polyelectrolyte, then further coating the particles with a multi-layer of charged nanoparticles by exposing the polyelectrolyte-coated surface to a fluid dispersion including the charged nanoparticles. The process steps can optionally be repeated thereby adding further layers of polyelectrolyte followed by nanoparticles as many times as desired to produce a second and subsequent layers. The polyelectrolyte has an opposite surface charge to the charged nanoparticles and a molecular weight at the ionic strength of the fluid that is effective so that the first, second, and subsequent layers independently comprise a multiplicity of nanoparticle layers that are thicker than monolayers.

The invention concerns a chromatography device comprising (i) a unitary column (10) designed to receive a chromatographic bed; (ii) a removable reservoir (9) for a bed suspension; and (iii) a base (8) comprising an actuator (14) fitted to a piston (11), said piston sliding inside the removable reservoir (9) and the column (10) to compress the suspension of solid grains into a chromatographic bed; the column (10), reservoir (9) and base being connected in series in that order, the piston (11) acting to compress the solid grains into a chromatographic bed inside the column (10). The invention also concerns a column for using the device, a method for compressing the chromatographic bed and a separation method using the device or the column.

The present invention discloses a caky chromatographic column and the method for producing it and its application. The caky chromatographic column includes a chromatographic medium column with an inlet and an exit for mobile phase and chromatographic medium packed in the inner cavity of the chromatographic medium column. The rate of thickness to radial length of the said inner cavity of the chromatographic medium is less than or equal to 1. The method for producing the caky chromatographic column comprises the steps of: 1) producing a chromatographic medium column that includes upper and lower pressing plates combined together with the inlet and exit for the mobile phase and a column body with at least one side-hole, the rate of the thickness to the radial length of the inner cavity of the chromatographic medium is less than or equal to 1; 2) injecting the chromatographic medium into the inner cavity of the chromatographic medium column through the side-hole of the chromatographic column. The caky chromatographic column can be used for the separation and purification of the biomacromolecules.

A capillary column (10) including monodispersed particles. The capillary (10) is formed using a suitable substrate, wherein two plates (12, 18) are bonded together. At least one of the plates (12, 18) includes a channel (14) where particles are housed. Particle bead positions are of defined and equivalent diameter are arranged along the longitudinal axis (16) of the housing structure. These positions are used to position packing material used to occupy the column (10). The particle beads themselves are of equivalent diameter.

A process for selecting shaped particles for use in a tube which is capable of being packed with shaped particles to form a packed bed in the tube. A desired value of one or more properties of the packed bed is defined. The dimensions of the shaped particles are calculated such that a packed bed in the tube of the shaped particles having the calculated dimensions meets or substantially meets the desired value(s), and shaped particles are selected in accordance with the calculated dimensions. The properties of the packed bed may be the volume fraction which is occupied by shaped particles, the packing density, and the resistivity for a gas flowing through the packed bed.
