The seams 51A are parallel to side edge portions 40L, 40R of the airbag 40 positioned outside the seams 51A in the width direction. Seams 51B are formed as contours opposed to the throttle portions 51 arranged adjacent to each other. The seams 51B are approximately parallel to each other.

At least the receiving area (23) used to receive the head (36) is provided with an airbag (30). The airbag is preferably activated in two stages in order to develop the full-size of the airbag only after catching the head (36) of the operator (19).

    摘要： An airbag for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a part opposite to a head (30h), which is opposite to a rider's head when the airbag is inflated and deployed, and a neck part (30n) which rises upward from the vehicle (10) and toward the part opposite to the head (30h). The width W1 of the neck part is smaller than width W2 of the part opposite to the head (30h), and the neck part has neckings (30c) curved inside widthwise.
    The neckings (30c) help avoid interference between the handlebars of the vehicle and the airbag, and allow the airbag (30) to be inflated and deployed in substantially the same direction as a travelling direction before collision, even if lateral movement of the vehicle (10) is caused by the collision.
