Furthermore, the PDP has improved yield and productivity. In the plasma display panel, a pair of substrates having a dielectric layer at least on one substrate are arranged to face each other, and the periphery is sealed with a sealing material. The expansion coefficient of the pair of substrates (3, 11) is 60×10-7-75×10-7/°C, and the expansion coefficient of the sealing material is 45×10-7-63×10-7/°C.

    摘要: Disclosed is a plasma display panel which enables to reduce steps in the manufacturing process and realizes good image display. The plasma display panel comprises a pair of substrates (3, 11) arranged opposite to each other so as to form a discharge space (16) between them, and at least the front side substrate is transparent. The front side substrate (3) is provided with display electrodes (6) each comprising a scan electrode (4) and a sustain electrode (5), and a light-shielding portion (7) which is in a position corresponding to a non-discharging portion (18) between the display electrodes (6). The rear side substrate (11) is provided with phosphor layers (15R, 15G, 15B) which emit light when a discharge is produced. Each display electrode (6) is composed of transparent electrodes (4a, 5a) and bus electrodes (4b, 5b), and the bus electrodes (4b, 5b) are respectively composed of a plurality of electrode layers. At least one of the electrode layers is a black layer (19) made of a material having a volume resistivity from 1 × 105 to 1 × 109 Ωcm, and the light-shielding portion (7) is made of the same material as the black layer (19).

    摘要: A plasma display device improved in efficiency and enhanced in image quality. This device has a pair of front and back substrates so opposed to each other and form discharge spaces partitioned by partition walls between the substrates, display electrodes arranged on the front substrate so as to form discharge cells between the partition walls, a dielectric layer so formed on the front substrate as to cover this display electrodes, and a phosphor layer which emits light by discharge between the display electrodes. The dielectric layer has structure of at least two layers with different permittivities, and a recess is formed for each discharge cell in the discharge space side surface of the dielectric layer, so that the discharge region is restricted to realize high-efficiency discharge. The structure of two layers with different permittivities enables suppression of crosstalk even if the thickness is decreased.

    摘要: An AC PDP (50) has a plurality of addressable subpixel sites, each subpixel site including an address electrode (52) positioned on one substrate (51) and first and second sustain electrodes (60, 62, 64) positioned on an opposed substrate (58). An intersection between the address electrode and the first sustain electrode defines a first discharge site and an intersection between the address electrode and the second electrode defines a second discharge site. A scan driver (70) is active during an address phase, and applies a negative going signal to the first sustain electrode. An address driver (53) applies an address signal to the address electrode which creates a discharge at the first discharge site and causes a discharge thereat which induces a wall voltage at the second discharge site in accordance with a determined subpixel value. A sustain driver (68) applies a sustain signal to both the first sustain electrode and the second sustain electrode and creates a 'ping pong' action of the wall charge states at the discharge sites and enables the use of positive column light emission in the PDP.

    摘要: An AC plasma display panel comprises a plurality of scanning electrodes and maintaining electrodes which are parallel to each other, formed on a first glass substrate 1, a plurality of ribs 9 formed on a second glass substrate 7 and arranged orthogonally to said electrodes, a data electrode formed on the second glass substrate 7, positioned between the ribs 9 and arranged parallel to ribs 9, wherein a discharge cell 2 is defined by dividing the space between two ribs 9 with the scanning electrodes 3b and 3c, and the maintaining electrodes 4b and 4c. According to the above-mentioned constitution, a discharge region can be widened without decreasing the opening ratio, and an AC plasma display panel with a high brightness and high efficiency can be obtained without increasing the number of production process steps and the cost of the production.
