A piston (5) is introduced in the process chamber, wherein the piston can be rotated about a rotational axis (6) and carries an arrangement of openings connected to the process chamber (1) at the height of the gap openings such that the gap openings (2a, 2b) are closed by the piston depending on the angular position of the piston (5) to a higher or lesser degree. In this manner, it is possible to effortless continuously vary the inflow cross-section of the gap (2a, 2b), thus enabling a reproducible, and moreover a particularly fine mixing or dispersing of the fluid media at a low expenditure of energy, even if the mass flows of the reactants vary.

The invention relates to an electrochrome display device comprised of a pair of glass or plastic plates or plastic films of which at least one plate or film or both plates or films are respectively provided with an electrically conductive coating on one side. At least one plate or film and the electrically conductive coating thereof are transparent. The electrically conductive layer of at least one of both plates or films is respectively divided into separate, individually contacted flat segments which each comprise an electric supply line from the edge of the device. The plates or films are joined on the sides of their conductive coating by a sealing ring. The volume which is formed by both plates or films and by the sealing ring is filled with an electrochrome medium. The electric supply lines to the flat segments are insulated from the electrochrome medium. The invention also relates to a method for producing an electrochrome display device in which the flat segments and the supply lines thereof are first formed from a flat, conductive coating or are applied on the plates or films, and afterwards the electrically insulating layer is applied on the supply lines. The electrochrome display device is operated by using constant, pulsed or direct voltage which varies in the amplitude thereof, or by using alternating voltage.
