    摘要: Thermo-welding tool for connecting thermoplastic resin moulded product parts together significantly reduces cooling time. A welding boss 5a formed on the moulded product part 5 is inserted into a fixing hole 6a formed on a fixed part 6 to be connected. A tip section of boss 5a projecting out from the hole 6a is heated and fused to form a head portion 5c overlying the part 6 to secure same. A portion of the end of the tool has a heating element 20 with a tip section 21 to apply heat and fuse the welding boss 5a. Slits 23 are provided in a side wall of the heating element to exhaust air after cooling the inside of the heating element 20. A pipe 10 supplies cooling air to the inside of the heating element 20 this being blown from the outlet 14 onto the back of the operative end portion 21 of the heating element 20 and also from side apertures 12 onto the internal surface of the heating element 20. The side apertures 12 are located in an offset position longitudinally and rotationally so that they do not directly face said slits 23.

    摘要: A web for the manufacture of fluid filled units with a novel machine and process is disclosed. The web includes an elongate heat sealable, flattened plastic tube comprised of face and back imperforate layers. The layers are imperforately joined together along spaced side edges (32). The layers include superposed longitudinal lines of weakness (35) disposed generally transversely midway between the side edges (32). The web has longitudinally spaced, pairs of transverse seals (34). Each transverse seal (34) extends from a respective side edge to an end near but spaced from the longitudinal lines of weakness. The transverse seal pairs include transverse lines of weakness (36) extending from one side edge to the other generally centrally of each seal in a longitudinal direction. The side edges, transverse seals and lines of weakness together delincating two oppositely oriented strings of pouches with each pouch having three imperforate sides and a centrally located fill opening at its fourth side. The transverse lines of weakness arc spaced slightly more than one half the circumference of a cylindrical fluid fill nozzle during pouch fluid filling.
