The invention relates to an assembly (10) for connecting a tubular first component (12) to a second component (14), in particular for connecting a traction bar to an A-column of a vehicle body. Said assembly comprises a first structural element (22), which forms a housing for a screw element (24), said first structural element being located on the end (20) of the first component (12) that faces the second component (14) and a second structural element (26), which is fixed to the end (20) of the first component (12) that faces the second component (14), in such a way that the first structural element (22) is held between the first component (12) and the second structural element (26) and that the screw element (24) is retained permanently in the first structural element (22) by the second structural element (26). The screw element (24) can be displaced in the first structural element (22) at least in a transversal direction in relation to a longitudinal axis (28) of the first component (12) to compensate for tolerances during the connection of the first component (12) to the second component (14). The invention also relates to a method for producing an assembly (10) of this type.

A bolt-and-nut fastening mechanism includes a right-hand bolt 4 provided with a metal-to-metal contact locking mechanism 7 on a threaded part, a left-hand bolt 5 provided with an internal screw thread 8 with which the bolt engages, and a fixing nut 6 capable of engaging with the left-hand screw thread 9 of the left-hand bolt 5 or a member 14 provided with an internal screw thread with which the left-hand screw thread 9 of the left-hand bolt 5 engages. The locking mechanism 7 of the bolt 4 thrusts the left-hand bolt 5 forward so that the gap between the top surface 13 of the head of the left-hand bolt and an inner panel 2 is narrowed, and the head of the left-hand bolt 5 comes into contact with the inner panel 2 to define a clearance between a body frame and the bracket 3 of a steering member. The bolt 4 is screwed into the left-hand bolt 5 and the base surface 11 of the bolt comes into contact with an outer panel 1 to produce a fastening force. The fastening force is transmitted through the left-hand bolt 5 to attach the steering member. A welded nut 6 may be omitted and an internal screw thread 15 with which the left-hand bolt engages may be formed in the bracket 14 of the steering member.

A coupling arrangement (1) for enabling fixing of a body structure member (12) and a structure member (11; 11'). Said coupling arrangement (1) comprises, at least two threaded tubes (3, 4) provided one in either end portion of a passage through a housing (2). The housing being fixed attachable in relation to said structure members and having a threaded passage, wherein a threaded bolt (10) is arranged through said passage. The threaded bolt (10) is adapted to connect said body structure member (12) and said structure member (11; 11') in a coupling position, from which coupling position said threaded bolt (10), via torque limiting elements (5), enables adjusting operation of said threaded tubes (3, 4) in opposite directions along said threaded bolt (10). Thus, the threaded tubes (3, 4) are adjustable to a respective fixed position by screwing the threaded bolt (10). The invention also relates to a vehicle body (20) provided with such a coupling arrangement (1) for enabling fixing of the vehicle body structure, especially where there is a need for tolerance absorption and interior support of a body structure.
