The process is characterized by forming silicon-containing particles as a result of phase separation from an organic polymer, wherein the phase separation is achieved by an addition reaction, condensation reaction, ring-opening reaction, or a radical reaction of a curable silicon-containing compound or a curable composition that contains said compound, and the silicon-containing compound or the composition is maintained in a uniform liquid, fused, or dissolved phase with the organic polymer that is free of silicon and does not participate in the curing reaction of the silicon-containing compound or the composition.

The present invention provides: a positive photosensitive composition that yields an insulation layer superior not only in high transparency, but also in heat resistance enduring a temperature during the production of a substrate, solvent resistance, and anti-aging property as a permanent resist; a positive permanent resist utilizing the positive photosensitive composition; and a method for producing the positive permanent resist. A silicon-containing compound of formula (1), and a curing composition containing a silicon-containing compound of formula (1) wherein Z is hydrogen, a silicon-containing compound of formula (1) wherein Z is C2-C4 alkenyl or alkynyl and a hydrosilylation catalyst. The composition has excellent handling and curing properties and provides a cured product with excellent heat resistance and flexibility.

A liquid polishing composition of the invention suitable for polishing an automobile and the like comprises about 0.01 to about 3 percent by weight of at least one silicone-based wax, about 0.20 to about 10 percent by weight of poly(alpha olefin) compounds including about 0.1 to about 5 percent by weight of at least one hyperbranched poly(alpha olefin), about 6 to about 60 percent by weight of at least one polydimethylsiloxane silicone fluid, about 1 to about 20 percent by weight of at least one volatile cyclic silicone, about 0.25 to about 3 percent by weight of at least one amino-functional silicone, about 0.01 to about 5 percent by weight of at least one UV absorber, and a petroleum-based carrier therefor. The liquid polishing composition can be packaged together with a microfiber polishing cloth in the form of a polishing kit. The liquid polishing composition provides a long lasting showroom finish and can be used directly on rubber, vinyl, and plastic components without leaving a white residue, commonly associated with conventional polishing compositions.

A polymerizable dimethicone copolyol macromer composition is synthesized by reacting itaconic anhydride with a dimethicone copolyol. During the reaction itaconic anhydride spontaneously isomerizes to citraconic anhydride which in turn is esterified by the dimethicone copolyol. The obtained macromers are copolymerizable with olefinically unsaturated monomers. Polymers containing the macromer repeating units are useful in a variety of applications including personal care, textile and industrial formulations to deliver softness, lubricity, fixative, water repellency, gloss, surface modification, and surfactant properties.
