    摘要: A device for destructing signals stored on compact disk includes a base, a punching pin, and a push lever. The base has a top stub for engaging with a central hole of a compact disk positioned on the base, a through hole corresponding to a Start Lead In (SLD) area on the compact disk, and an L-shaped arm portion holding a spring mechanism. The punching pin is vertically movably mounted in the spring mechanism and aligned with the SLD area, and the push lever is pivotally connected at an end to one side of the arm portion for pushing against an upper end of the punching pin. When the push lever is pivotally pushed downward, the punching pin is driven downward to punch a hole on the SLD area and ruin lead-in signals recorded thereon, preventing data stored on the compact disk from being read and disclosed.

    摘要: The device for making optical storage media such as CDs and DVDS unreadable, comprises a body (10) which has a flat recess (12), whereby at least one tip (16) protrudes into said recess (12). The body can be a rod (10) which has a diameter of approximately 25-35 mm and whose length is approximately 150mm. The recess (12) can be more than 1mm high, be approximately 50 mm deep and can be diametrically arranged in the rod (10). One or several headless screws (14) can be screwed into the body or rod (10) in a normal position in relation to the plane of the recess (12), the tips (16) being formed on the front end thereof.

    摘要: The foreign matter (P1,P2) adhered to the data bearing surface (2a,2b) of a master medium (2) is removed by use of a dry, non-contact removal process, so as to facilitate the performance of a high transfer quality magnetic transfer. Before performing a magnetic transfer or forming an optical disk, a magnetic transfer master medium or an optical disk master medium is placed in a vacuum chamber (3). The vacuum chamber is evacuated by an evacuating means (4), and a reactive gas is introduced thereto by a gas introducing means (6). In the state in which the chamber has been evacuated and the reactive gas has been introduced thereto, a discharging means (5) applies a discharge voltage in the chamber, causing a plasma discharge to be generated between the master medium (2) and an electrode (52). The plasma etching action of the plasma discharge burns off the foreign matter adhered to the surface of the master medium.

With the method and system according to the invention unsold data carriers, for instance CDs for which copyright payments have been refunded, can be destroyed in verifiable manner without the danger of these still being brought into commercial circulation.
