    摘要: Abstract A coating of an encapsulated electrophoretic medium is formed on a substrate (106) by dispersing in a fluid (104) a plurality of electrophoretic capsules (102), contacting at least a portion of a substrate (106) with the fluid (104); and applying a potential difference between at least a part of the portion of the substrate (106) contacting the fluid (104) and a counter-electrode (110) in electrical contact with the fluid (104), thereby causing capsules (102) to be deposited upon at least part of the portion of the substrate (106) contacting the fluid (102). Patterned coatings of capsules containing different colors may be deposited in registration with electrodes using multiple capsule deposition steps. Alternatively, a patterned coating may be deposited upon a substrate containing a conductive layer by varying the conductivity of the conductive layer by radiation exposure or by coating portions of the conductive layer with an insulating layer, typically a photoresist.

    摘要: Electrodeposition (ED) systems and methods are disclosed where acid control is possible without adding acid from outside when acid tends to be depleted. A mixture of high neutralizer removal type membrane electrodes and low neutralizer removal type membrane electrodes are placed in an ED tank. To each of these two types of electrodes separate and independent electrolyte circulation systems are connected. To each of these circulation system are connected each correspondingly first and second electrolyte conductivity control means, each of which works to add D.I. water, as a dilution media, to corresponding electrolyte circulation system, when the conductivity exceeds pre-set reference conductivity values. The reference conductivity set point at which value the second electrolyte control means will add D.I. water to the second electrolyte circulation system preferably is set higher than the reference conductivity set point at which value the first electrolyte control means will add D.I. water to the first electrolyte circulation system.

    摘要: Bei dieser Einrichtung zur Pulverbeschichtung (1) werden Werkstücke (2) beispielsweise Fahrtreppenstufen in einer Anodisiereinheit (7) einer Strombehandlung unterzogen. Ein Träger (3) fortbewegendes Fördermittel (4) ist über einem Becken (14) abgesenkt, sodass die Werkstücke (2) in Durchlaufrichtung (15) gesehen in ein Bad (16) eingetaucht werden und nach einer bestimmten Verweilzeit am Ende des Beckens (14) wieder aus dem Bad (16) gehoben werden. Im Beckenbereich ist eine parallel zur Fahrbahn des Fördermittels (4) verlaufende Stromzuführung (17) beispielsweise eine Stromschiene angeordnet. Jeder Träger (3) ist mit einem Stromabnehmer mit beispielsweise Schleif- oder Rollenkontakten versehen, die den Träger (3) mit der Stromzuführung (17) elektrisch verbinden. Die Verbindung wird beim Absenken des Trägers (3) hergestellt und beim Anheben des Trägers (3) unterbrochen.

    摘要: A cation electrodeposition coating process and cation electrodeposition coating composition that have a sufficient throwing power are provided.
    A process for cationic electrodeposition coating which comprises the steps of:

    (1) immersing a substrate in a cationic electrodeposition coating composition;
    (2) applying a voltage between an anode and said substrate, which serves as a cathode, to thereby cause coat film deposition; and
    (3) further applying a voltage to the coat film deposited so as to increase electric resistance per unit volume of said coat film,
    wherein, in said step (3), coat films are deposited at those sites of the substrate where coat films have not yet been deposited,
    said cationic electrodeposition coating composition having a time point when the electric resistance per unit volume of the coat film deposited increases in the course of electrodeposition under constant-current conditions.
