The tab mates with the housing, and contains at least one electrical element. The tab is removable, and may be replaced with a different tab. The different tab may change the rate fluid is forced from the reservoir. A tab may be removed from one external infusion device and installed in a different external infusion device. The tab may be limited to use in a predetermined number of external infusion devices and may include a power supply.

A communication system for communicating CDMA and GSM transmit and receive RF information signals through one or more antennas is disclosed. The communication system is comprised of a transmitting unit, a receiving unit, and at least one antenna. The transmitting unit modulates and upconverts a transmit baseband information signal to generate a CDMA transmit RF information signal and a GSM transmit RF information signal. The receiving unit downconverts and demodulates a CDMA receive RF information signal and a GSM receive RF information signal to generate a receive baseband information signal. One or more antennas are coupled to the transmitting unit and receiving unit for transmitting the CDMA transmit RF information signal and the GSM transmit RF information signal, and receiving the CDMA receive RF information signal and the GSM receive RF information signal. The transmitting unit comprises a modulator for modulating a transmit IF LO frequency with the transmit baseband information signal to generate a transmit IF information signal. It also includes a plurality of upconverters for upconverting the transmit IF information signal with a GSM transmit RF LO frequency to generate a GSM transmit RF information signal, and for upconverting the transmit IF information signal with a CDMA transmit RF LO frequency to generate at least one CDMA transmit RF information signal. The receiving unit comprises a downconverter for downconverting a CDMA receive RF information signal with a receive RF LO frequency to generate a receive IF information signal, and for downconverting at least one GSM receive RF information signal with the receive RF LO frequency to generate a receive IF information signal. It also includes a demodulator for demodulating the receive IF information signal with a receive IF LO frequency to generate a receive baseband information signal.

An artificial disc implant (50) includes an upper shell (52), a lower shell (54), and a spacer (56) therebetween. The spacer preferably has properties similar to that of a natural spinal disc, while the upper and lower shells form a rigid interface between the implant and the adjacent vertebral bodies. The upper and lower shells can be configured to prevent expulsion of the spacer from the disc space. The implant upper and lower shells may further be configured into partially cylindrical shapes for ease of insertion through an insertion tube as presently known for interbody fusion devices. The devices may further be configured for insertion through a double-barreled insertion tube. Methods and instruments for inserting an artificial disc implant are also provided.

An apparatus and method for enlargement of soft tissue, such as breast, including a vessel or dome configured to fit over the tissue which is to be enhanced or enlarged. The dome or vessel has a sealing cushion of elastic material which surrounds and encompasses the perimeter of the base of the vessel. The cushion includes a fluid compartment which is compressible. The fluid compartment is deformable such that when the vacuum is applied to the sphere, the seal material and compartment deform, isolate, and diffuse the pressure on the skin. The apparatus also includes a vacuum pump with a power source, a pressure sensor to regulate the pressure, or vacuum provided by the pump. The dome also includes a valve mechanism for controlling the ingress and egress of the vacuum to the interior of the dome. This valve will automatically close so that the pump may be removed from the dome and the pressure or vacuum therein be maintained. This valve also includes a release mechanism to remove or exhaust the vacuum in case of discomfort or emergency. The domes may also have different configurations, including rectangular, though normally they will remain as a sphere to maximize and equalize the augmentation of the flesh or tissue within the confines of the dome. The dome also is formed with a footed rim which is embedded in a deformable elastic cushion with a fluid pocket to augment the deformation and consequent reduction in the per square inch pressure applied to the tissue of the wearer.
