    摘要: A reflecting base material that can reliably prevent the occurrence of uneven brightness, a backlight unit that uses the same, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. Surface profile information of the reflecting base material 7 is obtained by a laser displacement gauge 3. Next, the unevenness information obtained is subjected to Fourier transform, and the relationship between frequency and intensity for the surface unevenness profile of the reflecting base material is obtained. Next, the calculated relationship between the frequency and intensity is compared with a preset standard data. When the intensity exceeds 0.6 at a predetermined range of frequency domain, a judgment of rejection is made; when no data exceeding 0.6 exists in said judgment domain, a judgment of acceptance is made.

    摘要: Disclosed is an automatic analyzer which can detect a trace amount of reaction solution at a high S/N with stability. The analyzer allows a photomultiplier (111) to detect light from the reaction solution (109) containing a luminescent substance (114) through an optical window (102). To process the output from the photomultiplier to analyze the amount of the luminescent substance (114) contained in the reaction solution (109), an optical transmission system (110) is interposed between the optical window (102) and the photomultiplier (111). The optical transmission system includes a light inlet opposed to the optical window; a light outlet opposed to the light-receiving surface of the detector; and a reflector on which an incident beam of light from the light inlet is reflected to propagate to the light outlet. This configuration allows the effects of temperature-dependent noise from a flow cell (101) to be reduced while preventing a drop in the amount of light from the luminescent substance (114), thereby implementing analysis at a high S/N.

With the procedure above, it is possible to reduce an artifact caused by the nonlinearity of the gradient magnetic field and/or inhomogeneities of the magnetic field, without extending the imaging time.

    摘要: In a multicore fiber in which multiple single mode cores are stored in one optical fiber, the multicore fiber has, in the cross section of the fiber, a lattice-point arrangement in which multiple lattice points are periodically arranged two-dimensionally with translational symmetry and rotational symmetry or one of translational symmetry and rotational symmetry and, in that lattice-point arrangement, multiple cores are arranged with the lattice points of the lattice-point arrangement as reference positions. By giving different perturbations to the propagation constants of the cores, the propagation constants of the cores are each varied from the original propagation constants. Because of the variation in the propagation constants, the core-to-core coupling amount, which is dependent on the varied propagation constants, fall below a predetermined setting amount. Suppressing the coupling between homogeneous cores in this way reduces the distance between the homogeneous cores, thus increasing the core density of the multicore fiber without increasing the types of heterogeneous cores.
