A logging tool may include one or more acoustic phased arrays, such as one or more transmitter arrays and one or more receiver arrays each having multiple transducer elements. The acoustic signals may be beamformed by independently pulsing array elements of the arrays to excite and detect desired wave modes in a casing or other material in a well. Parameters of the casing or other material in the well may be determined using the received acoustic signal.

The support element may be configured to rotate about an axis(214) when the support element is inserted in a well, and the hollow cavity may be configured to permit fluid flow through the support element when the support element is in the well. Furthermore, the downhole logging tool may include a first fairing portion (212A), which may include a first sensor (210A) to obtain measurements in the well. Additionally, the first fairing portion may be configured to form a revolution surface associated with a portion of the support element to reduce fluidic resistance of the rotating support element.

    摘要: A method is disclosed and performed by collecting, by a volumetric sampler (50), a known volume of a sample from drilling fluid (28) exiting a well bore (12) penetrating a formation (14), the sample having a free gas and a dissolved gas. A first quantity of the free gas entrained in the sample is measured by a free gas detection system (52). The sample is transferred to a dissolved gas detection system (54) after the free gas in the sample is measured. The method is further performed by measuring a second quantity of the dissolved gas in the sample by the dissolved gas detection system. A total amount of one or more certain type of gas in a formation is estimated based on the first and second quantities.

In one example, a method includes receiving acoustic cement evaluation data parameterized using a first parameterization. A subset of the acoustic cement evaluation data is compared to expected nominal values of the acoustic cement evaluation data. When the subset of the acoustic cement evaluation data does not substantially conform to the expected nominal values of the acoustic cement evaluation data, all or part of the acoustic cement evaluation data is corrected to cause the subset of the acoustic cement evaluation data to more closely match the expected nominal values of the acoustic cement evaluation data. The corrected acoustic cement evaluation data may be used to estimate a presence of solids, liquids, and/or gases behind the casing.
