The present invention relates to the production of acrolein and/or acrylic acid from glycerol, and specifically relates to a method for continuously producing a flow including acrolein by dehydrating glycerol, including cycles of reacting and regenerating the dehydration catalyst. The invention also relates to equipment for producing said continuous flow of acrolein in an efficient manner in terms of energy consumption and productivity, without large investments and with satisfactory safety conditions.

The present invention relates to the manufacture of bio-based acrolein and acrylic acid from glycerol as raw material and specifically falls within the scope of an acrolein and acrylic acid manufacturing process according to which the reaction, where glycerol is dehydrated in acrolein, is carried out and a step of oxidizing a water-rich phase, separated from the reaction medium of said dehydration reaction, is implemented before recycling said water-rich phase in the glycerol dehydration step. Said oxidizing treatment makes it possible to prevent the accumulation of organic impurities during the process while minimizing the use of water and polluted water flow discharge.

The present invention relates to a composition which comprises at least one α,ω-amino-alkanoic acid or ester and at least one alkanoic ester or acid, characterised in that: the α,ω-amino-alkanoic acid or ester has formula H 2 N-(CH 2 ) n- COOR, wherein n=9 to 13 and R is an alkyl group or a hydrogen; the alkanoic ester or acid has formula R 1 -COOR 2 , wherein R 1 is a straight or branched alkyl group with formula C m H 2m + 1 or C m H 2m-1 or C m H 2m-3 , wherein m=6 to 20 and R 2 is an alkyl group or a hydrogen; the molar ratio between the alkanoic acid(s) or ester(s) and the α,ω-amino-alkanoic acid(s) or ester(s) is in the range from 0.001 to 0.4 %. The present invention also relates to novel methods for obtaining such a composition.
