The instant invention relates to stable free nitroxyl radicals of formula (I) at least one of the substituents R is -O. and the others are hydrogen or OH; X is -NR1R2, wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, C1-C18alkyl or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bound from a 5 or 6 membered ring which may be further interrupted by an O atom. Further subjects of the invention are an oxidation process for alcohols to aldehydes or ketones or to carboxylic acids in the presence of a compound of formula (I) and the use of stable free nitroxyl radicals of formula (I) as oxidation catalysts.

The invention describes a composition comprising a) an organic material which is susceptible to oxidative, thermal or light-induced degradation, and b) at least one melt additive of a compound of the formula (I) wherein the general symbols are as defined in claim 1. The compounds of the formula (I) are useful as reducers of surface energy for organic materials, for example, for increasing the oil and water repellency of organic materials.

The instant invention discloses a film composition with anti-fog, anti-mist and anti-cloud properties comprising (a) a polyolefin, a polyvinylalcohol, a polyvinylester or mixtures thereof, (b) an effective amount of at least one linear ethoxylated alcohol; and (c) an effective amount of at least one fluorine-containing surfactant. The films are useful as a greenhouse film for agricultural applications.

The instant invention relates to new compounds of the formula (I), wherein Ro is (formula II), R1 and R2 are each independently of the other a fluorine containing group, R3 and R4 are each independently of the other hydrogen, a fluorine containing group, C1-C12alkyl, phenyl or (formula III), or R3 and R4, together with the carbon atom to which they are bonded, form a C5-C8-cycloalkylidene ring that is unsubstituted or substituted by from 1 to 3 C1-C4alkyl groups; R5, R6, R7 and R8 are each independently of the other hydrogen, C1-C12alkyl or C3-C12alkenyl, X1 and X2 are each independently of the other a direct bond or C1-C12alkylene, m is 1 to 10'000, and n is 0 to 10'000. These new compounds of the formula (I) are useful as reducers of surface energy for organic materials such as polycarbonates, polyesters or polyketones or their mixtures, blends or alloys.
