摘要: An architecture for a multimedia peer-to-peer home network (P2P_1,P2P_2) allows the automated definition of peer groups, or zones, by using group labels (Z_ID), where each peer (N1,...,N7) is capable of automatically identifying whether other peers are members of the same group, or of another group, and where each peer (N1,...,N7) may freely cooperate with other peers of the same group, e.g. exchange information or share resources like storage capacity.
Using this architecture, it is e.g. possible that a user who is accessing a node within a peer group has also access to any other node of the peer group, without being requested for authentication. Another characteristic is that other peer groups (OZ_41) can be defined which have access rights to network resources and services (N42,N44). Advantageously, the invention simplifies network creation and operation by not requiring the user to have special networking knowledge.

摘要: An architecture for a multimedia peer-to-peer home network (P2P) allows the simple definition of peer groups (OZ_40, OZ_41, OZ_42), or zones, where each peer (N41,...,N45) is capable of automatically identifying whether other peers are members of the same group, or of another group, by using group labels (Z_ID 0 ,Z_ID 1 ,Z_ID 2 ), and where each peer (N1,...,N7) may freely cooperate with the other peers of the same group, or with peers of previously specified other groups, e.g. exchange information or share resources. The architecture aims to map an atmosphere of trust existing between users to a technical system, namely their respective home networks.
Using this architecture, it is e.g. possible that users who are trusting each other may give each other access to their own home network, or parts of it. Advantageously, the invention simplifies network operation by not requiring the user to have special networking knowledge.

摘要: It is desired to link photo data and video data taken by a digital camcorder (200). Therefore, there is provided a device and method for linking multimedia data, wherein linking information is formed (209) on the basis of first and/or second multimedia data. The linking information is stored (210) on a recording medium (202) together with the first multimedia data (201). The second multimedia data may be stored (206) together with respective linking information (211) to the first multimedia data on a second recording medium (207). Thus, a camera-man while recording is able to set up logo or index pictures for a video film.

摘要: The present invention relates to a digital audio and/ or video recorder (DVR) and to a method for recording of program data comprised in a transport stream (1), the transport stream having metadata (3), the method comprising the steps of:

de-multiplexing the transport stream to provide the program data and the metadata (5),
storing the program data in a digital recording format, the digital recording format having a first data structure (10) for storing of navigation data and a second data structure (9) of a second stream format for storage of program data packets,
transforming the metadata into the first data structure (7), and
storing the transformed metadata as part of the navigation data.

摘要: The invention relates to the field of network communication in a wide area, where a local network of a first type (20) has a sending station (21) that communicates with a receiving station (31) in a local network of a second type (30). A network of a third type (50) is in between the two networks (20, 30) and provides virtual private networking between the two local networks (20, 30). The network of the first type (20) supports a fine grained QoS, whereas the network of the third type (50) supports a coarser grained QoS. In one example the network of the first type is RSVP capable and the network of the second type is an MPLS network.
The invention resides in a component called RSVP-MPLS proxy (100) that maps the RSVP resource advertisements and reservations within an RSVP-aware customer network to an MPLS network, whereby the receiver side doesn't participate in the RSVP communication process.

摘要: Metadata databases shall be cleaned regularly. Those metadata which are not utilized as index information of essence anymore should be deleted. Thus, there is provided a method and a device to save the selected metadata as essence. This means that metadata (1) seleceted by a graphical user interface (5) are converted into a new essence (4) by taking over the MD-essence (2) of the metadata (1) into the new essence (4). The user may find further essence data (6, 8, 12) on the basis of the MD-link (3) of the selected meta data (1) which could be added to new essence (4).

摘要: A comfortable method and device for searching databases are required. Thus, a database access concept including an interface descriptor (8) is proposed. The interface descriptor (8) may be a XML-file which describes interface categories and database access strategies. The database interface machine (2) may comprise a standard category display method (4) and a standard database access method (6). The database interface machine (2) can use the definitions contained in the interface descriptor (8) to set up a categorized interface to the database (1) and to perform complete database searches.
